When getting to Noleggiare to pick up our car they indicated the insurance had no validity for them and we needed to take out insurance with them. We called Auto Europe customer service center to told them we needed a refund and were told, very rudely by the representative, that our reservation was not refundable not changeable and were hanged up on ! Needless to say this is a misleading sale on an insurance option that had no validity and should have never been offered but rather the one from Noleggiare which we had to pay on top of this one. As a broker/intermediary offering such services it is your duty of information to me and worse your responsibility to reimburse me for misleading sale which was declined by your customer service. We will be obviously filling a complaint to stop such type of ludicrous behaviours and report this matter. "

The trunk size is 570 litres compared with 1130 litres of an Discovery. Due to this we had to rent an extra small car to fit 5 persons with luggage. - Although we pre- checked in online with Nollegiare it took us 3 hours to get the car!!!! First 90 minutes in line at the desk and then another 90 minutes in the garage waiting for the car to be washed. We left the airport just after 1 pm. I understand the this is not the service that Holiday Auto want to provide for your clients but you should forward this claim for your partner Nollegiare. I took photos of all around the car as I could anticipate what was going to happen when I returned the car. Sure enough a couple of days after I was told I had damaged the car and I need to pay 180 euros. I have photos showing the damage was already there when I collected the car, but I will see how this process goes and keep you informed. "

I learned a lesson: get a rental from a reputable international company that cares about its reputation. " When I checked in the car, the rental company claimed there was a new scratch. Actually, when I rented the car it had 16 scratches as indicated in the check out report. The Noleggiare staff did not bother to show me each scratch, instead he told me to check the car against the report. Since I trusted all scratches were included in the check out report, I made just a normal inspection of the car and may have overlooked an existing but unreported minor scratch. I believe now that the 'claimed new scratch' was already on the car when I rented it and the company acted in bad faith charging me 330 EUR for an already existing scratch. As my flight was one hour later there was no time to report the issue to the police. In addition, the interior of the windshield was very dirty and the car's deposit of windshield cleaner was empty. "

" Everything went well with the rental up until a week after it was completed. Since I booked a car with zero excess "only" 200EUR was blocked on my credit card. When we dropped off the car on a Saturday, they told us it was going to be released on Monday. A week has passed, but it is still blocked and my bank will charge me interest if it is not unblocked very soon. I called the Catania Airport rental office. I have spoken to THE RUDEST and MOST UNHELPFUL woman ever (she was on shift on June 16th until 3:00pm). She did not even give me the courtesy to listen what I wanted to say and kept cutting me off. Customer Service 1.0: You listen to the customer. I had to keep asking her to not cut me off and give me the courtesy of listening to me but she did not. At one point she said "Sorry" but she offered no help - throughout she kept speaking over when I was trying to speak. I asked her how she could help me, her response was that her shift has ended. Wow. I tried again to finish my sentence but she just flat out hung up on me. I called back, she just picked up the phone and hung up immediately again. It is shocking and unbelievable that someone in customer service would allow herself to do that. Moreover to be employed with this attitude, get away with it and not be fired. I hope this complaint reaches the management of Noleggiare and she will be held responsible! I called back the third time, blocking my number. Lorena - who just started her shift - picked up the phone immediately, took my name, found my reservation (which the previous one did not even bother to do) and promised to follow-up and unblock my money. This just happened, so I am not sure whether it will be unblocked in a few days as promised but I know one thing; I am never using this company again. Otherwise the car was nice, almost brand new. Shame this woman ruined the whole experience. "

" This car rental company should be taken off Auto Europe because it's a bait and switch scheme. They have the lowest prices, then find a way to charge you an extra €300 for the rental. We've rented over 50 cars over the course of our travels and never have we seen a person get on their hands and knees feeling up on a car for 10 minutes to check for tiny scratches. Even the person who does this job knows she's stealing. Funny enough, if you pay for full insurance with Noleggiare, it would be €300 anyways. Never again. "

" Great disappointment and disgust at the same time! I have also contacts with major travel agencies and I will send a direct risk signal for this company so to being very careful and avoiding it. I explain in very simple words what happened ... I booked the car from autoeurope as i usually do with not any problems. The car it was a very good chance only 130 € for 1 week. When I went to pick it up, the employee did not want to give it to me for the reason that my diploma had a problem! Note that my diploma is up to date and I have traveled throughout Europe even to the rest of Italy without any problem. Obviously she was looking for ways to charge me extra money !!! I traveled to Sicily with my wife and my two children and I was very cautious about driving as I am used to doing! And why not be when my kids are in the car for the first time in Europe. We returned the car to the point indicated by the employee half an hour before the end. The employee took the car with a full tank and after checking it out, find it without any problem. He assured us that everything is ok and we went for check in. When we were sitting on the plane to fly, it came to me e-mail from this company informed us that we have to pay 280 € !!! due to damage to the car. !!! A very big surprise for us!!! I have just been found a few seconds to answer them and tell them to refuse the above claim. Now you know why all this chagrin and disgust. Please: 1. for your own actions and 2. let them know that their absurd and illegal request will not be satisfied.
