She was a pleasure to deal with in person as well and spoke excellent English. Though the queueing time at the registration counter took a little longer than expected, all the the staff I encountered, including those at the car collection point, were friendly and helpful. The car was in good driving condition and quite new. The car return was hassle-free. Most impressed with the staff who attended to me. I miscalculated the duration of my travel itinerary and ended up returning the car one day late. The staff processed the one day extra charge very efficiently, with pleasant reassurance that there was no further additional deduction. "

" I had booked a FORD KUGA (or similar). I was told that Kuga was not available and that I will be given an upgrade but instead of an upgrade I got downgraded. I got a dr5 (new Chinese car brand which I had no idea about) which is smaller and has a much smaller luggage boot which made our trips difficult. "

" Autoeurope is still my favourite place for car rental. The individual rental companies vary a lot. "

" I chose to pre-pay the petrol and avoid hassle on a Sunday but I found it was overcharged compared to pump prices and an extra fee added on top. Other rental firms do not do that. Vehicle was badly scratched all over and indicated a low tyre pressure from day 1 so I don't think it had been checked fully after previous rental. "

" Hertz company provide the exact car for our rental, but there was a problem with the tyre pressure system which always gave an error during the trip despite checking and making the necessary adjustments for all tyre pressure 3 times. Personel was not enough (only 1) which we have to wait for 20-30minutes both on arrival and departure. "

What I've noticed is that if you buy from the beginning a package that includes excess protection, price is lower than if you add the option(s) afterwards (when receiving an email from AutoEurope advertising this). " Hertz was very kind to offer us the Fiat 500 when we asked for it, even if Fiat Panda was their initial offer (both cars being in the same class, or so they say). What was not clear was that we had to provide a receipt from the gas station where we filled up the tank before returning the car. In Italy, if you pay cash (even when attended) you don't receive a receipt unless you specifically ask for it. Fortunately, Hertz staff understood the situation. "
