We were late to pick up the vehicle and I had an issue locating my PIN number for my credit card. We appreciate this was frustrating for the staff member who dealt with us. And we were apologetic for the situation. However when we decided not to book insurance directly he became quite surly. I found the whole experience to be very unpleasant and slightly aggressive, implying we were fools not to take the insurance. Thankfully we live in the area and we're hiring this as an additional car and it was not our first car hire encounter in Italy but for a first timer it would have felt like intimidation to book the insurance. I appreciate this is where car hire companies make their money but all clients should be treated with kindness, not just the ones who go for the premium insurance packages. We will go to a different company next time and avoid Ecovia at all costs and pass this on to all guests who come to stay at our casa di vacanza. "
