" My rent was at easy car hire through aotoeurope. Positives: The booking process was smooth, when we arrived the hand over was fast. We got the car I booked (Jeep Compass), actually it was new (with 1800Km) I was the second renter. Not that positive: I booked a child seat too, but they had only a booster, which for the long drives was not the best as my son could not sleep in it properly, but it made it. Negative surprise: Even though I had a base insurance through autoeurope, at the desk the lady told me it is better if I make their own insurance (350 eur for days or so), as if there is any issue, I most probably will loose only my 500 EUR cauction. If I keep the base, I can be penalized till 1500 EUR for the damages I make. It was a new car, and I've read a lot of bad experiences at the drop off, so I rather got the extra insurance. At the end I had to admit that the drop of was like 2 minutes, and they did not charge any extra, I am not sure if they would have been so smooth with the base insurance. Overall experience was much better than I expected from the reviews, I had no issues , the only bittersweet pill to swallow was this extra insurance, by this actually the total price was not as cheap as I expected at the beginning form only the rent fee, but it was a good service, and I had no issue with the car. "

" At pick-up, they tried to manipulate the situation by requiring an additional guarantee of 500 euros, showing a table that made no sense. They provided a private email address and required me to send to them my return flight details!!! They stated that having snow chains is mandatory, and since the car did not have chains, I had to buy them for 10 euros per day. After insisting on this topic, they charged 7 euros per day. The car was dirty at pick-up, making it difficult to distinguish small damage. At the delivery, they claimed there were new scratches (small) on the right rear fender molding and charged me 200 euros. I claimed that damage, but they charged me again. In conclusion, I felt cheated by this company. They find the way to steal your money. At the end It cost me more than the initial offer of other companies. "

" Check in was great but something has changed, everything was OK with my rental but they try as hard asd possible to find a fault when returning the car, the poor people in front of me had a charge for a very, very minor stone chip. Also charging for snow chains is terrible. I would avoid using them again in the future. "

They refuse to bring family to the car location, so they had to wait 1 more hour at the airport until I can come back to pick them up ! They pretended my VISA PREMIER card was not valid for such rental, and forced me to pay 1000 (ONE THOUSAND) euro more for an additional insurance subscription (520 €) + 500 € deposit. Their own contract mention they accept VISA PREMIER, without saying if they require a "debit" or "credit" visa premier card. In theory, they offer interesting pricing, in realty it's the worth choice anyone could make ! " I would really recommend AutoEurope take a look at this operation, especially in Pisa. They are offering cheap rentals, then ripping customers off, knowing that they will make up their shortfall through the insurance pay out. I have been using AutoEurope, and other car rental agents for many years, all over the world, and never have I come across a company that is so blatant in it's underhandedness! "
" They gave us a badly damaged car, which I endeavoured to take pics of every dent and real damage. When I returned the car after 5 days at a golf resort, with my own individual pRking space, 5 people came out and went over the car. They then informed me that there was a tiny dent on the back bumper. This bumper was severely damaged one side already. They then accused me of doing this damage. I didn't do this, and unfortunately I didn't see it, as it was so small, and as it hadn't been cleaned I couldn't see the mark. They are a bunch of theives and they just wanted to make extra money out of their customers. I had insurance, and if I had done this I would have owned up to it. I am disappointed that AutoEurope has them on their books, as they are bad for business! "

" That was a first time ever (even USA was ok) when my debit card was not accepted. Only credit, which I did not have. The option was either to pay €150 more additionally for the "additional" insurance or not take a car and no one was planning to return me money for a booking. Our flight was late, 2 kids and 2.5 hours additional drive gave me no choice but pay additionally. Car was ok, however I was not informed about a "tire check" and while driving at midnight it was a surprise for me, so we had to stop 3 times for tire check cause the pressure was ok. "

The Desk Agent lied and pressured us into unneccessarily buying extra insurance, by claiming that Sicilian laws and insurance coverages on credit cards are very different from the rest of Italy. We just got off the phone with our Citibank Costco Visa agent, who assured us that we had indeed been pressured into unneccessarily buying insurance. Then we went to the car, and saw numerous dings, dents, and popped-out fenders. There was no electronic key, and the sound/navigation system didn't work, according to agent in the parking lot. When we asked if he could speak to the Desk Agent, he said no one here has the authority. "You will have to call the Corporate Office". We would NEVER rent from them again.
