" My only concerns were with the Milan Malpensa airport. The rental return spot was hard to find and badly signposted, no gas station near the airport - the one I found was really tiny and well hidden a couple of miles away. I had a lot of luggage and sports Equipment so I needed a trolley - very haed to find when returning the car. There is a trolley automat in parking hall, but it did not work. Also the next two automats in the terminal were out of service. it took me 15-20 minutes to run arounf the terminal and find a trolley, which is ridiculous. A very long minus for malpensa. "

The light in the parking didn't allow a thorough check. At return, as I had an early flight, I dropped the key in the box at 7.40. To my surprise I was charged with a damaged rim 85 EUR and, additional, a penalty accident fee of 70 EUR. I asked for clarification and received a picture of the rim, from where you cannot tell if the damage was fresh or old. I asked for another picture and the explanation of the accident fee, since there was no accident, but I didn't get anything else than a standard answer and pointing to the Rental special conditions. " My contract for car hire was with Alamo through Autoeurope. I did not wish to rent from Locauto because I had heard and read unsatisfactory reports about people's experiences with this company - reports which were verified by my experience. Car hire for 3 days cost €134. Car hire for two extra hours from Locauto cost €116. While I accept that two extra hours amounts to another days car hire, this cost was excessive. Car hire for one day on your site at present for similar automatic car is priced at under €45. They then charged me €775 for minor surface scratches on the front wing of the car. The damage to the car was caused by branches from bushes and trees at the side of the road around Lake Garda. There was no collision or impact with any other car, object or property. The damage could be repaired with a quick application of car polish. When I tried to argue about these exhorbitant outrageous charges, I was informed that they would charge me an extra €98 for administration costs. I never want to deal with this company Locauto again. And I am annoyed that my contract with Alamo through you, was transferred to Locauto and I was given no information or choice about this change of contract. "

" The rental started out badly from the beginning. The address autoeurope lists for he location only includes the streets and a vague description of "200 meters from the station." So for one hour I had to figure out that the location was a locauto and not an Alamo and walk up and down the street trying to find it. Oh and the best part, no one at the office would answer the phone so there was no use calling. And of course I should mention that I had to drag my family of three with luggage along with me in trying to locate the rental when the whole point of booking at this location was the convenience of it being in the station. After this, let's get to the car: it was fine upon pickup and I noticed some scratches along with a missing chip on one of the hubcaps but was told not to worry about it. While driving at the beginning was fine, the car's RPM began suddenly shooting up at random intervals while driving which worried us. We pulled over several times and tried to read the owners manual and even contacted locauto to make sure everything was okay to no avail. Finally the car got us where we needed to go so it was fine. The best part: upon drop-off the locauto staff tried to say the chip on the hubcap from the beginning was MY DOING. I was in complete shock. They said they had nothing in their notes about this and that I needed to pay 85€ for the damages. I refused to do this and wrote a declaration saying that this was not my doing and left.
