" I didn't get in Madrid exactly the same car as wished (MB E-class), but I got one of the similar class (BMW X1). The car was very good, although I hadn't had any experience preciously with X1 and the procedure itself was very smooth, both taking the car and dropping it. However, I got the contract to my email only in spanish - which in case there was some incident would have been impossible to understand for me. GPS was in spanish, but that was not a big deal to learn a couple of words in spanish in order to use the system correctly. I was also told that when picking up the car that no sufficient insurance payment was made by me previously to Auto Europe, which I doubt a little bit, so I had to include in the payment at the spot all insurance expenses. But in overall I am very satisfied. "

" INDIGNATION Honestly, I am furious with Auto Europe and relatively happy with the friendly Spanish employees at Enterprise. I wish there were some method by which to cancel the contract when the vehicle provided has "rien avoir" with the vehicle in the photo and no other "similar compacts" are available. This was an awful expense to bear and I am feeling indignant about the whole experience. I was forced to choose a cargo van without windows or rear view mirror OR to take an upgrade and pay an additional €12/day to have a compact SUV. The only other option was to "eat" the €250 already spent on my Auto Europe voucher. "
" INDIGNANT My experience with Enterprise was complicated by the fact that I paid for a voucher with Enterprise through Auto Europe. Auto Europe offered me a "Berlingo Cargo Van or similar compact." The vehicle pictured when I made my booking had windows and doors and a rearview mirror. When I got to Enterprise to pick up my car it was a white box cargo van with the Enterprise logo on the side. The two front seats were against a black metal wall panel. The vehicle had no rearview mirror. When I said this car does not meet the contract and asked for "a similar compact" they said they had none available. I was forced to choose a cargo van without windows or rear view mirror OR to take an upgrade and pay an additional €12/day to have a compact SUV. The only other option was to "eat" the €250 already spent on my Auto Europe voucher. The car (a SEAT ATECA) sensed a loss of tire pressure in the rear left tire. Neither I nor any mechanics could explain this. It was disquieting but caused no problems. Twice in 11 days, the touchscreen panel of the car went completely dead/black and would not come back to life until some random time a few hours later. "

I was very surprised, because all details were duplicated in English, so there was no doubt that it is my license or something. In addition it is not my first car renting in Europe, and every time before everything was smooth. I was extremely disappointed, all my holiday vacation with my family, planned long before was ruined because of some bureaucracy procedure. But I respect the rules so I said: "OK, if you say so, we have to cancel the booking". The answer was that it is possible only in internet/phone, that I have to speak with Auto Europe agent, only they can cancel the booking. So I called to Auto Europe. The answer there was that I can't cancel the reservation, despite the reason, that it's not my idea to cancel, that it's a local sudden issue which I didn't met before in other countries. It's totally insane that I have to pay for all days of rent if I don't even get a car. I really suspect from normal human oriented company to make a refund, maybe only take a force majeure fee. However I met a wonderful Enterprising rep - Jose Francisco Hernandez who assured my wife and me an automatic and large enough vehicle to accommodate 4 adults and 5 pieces of luggage would be available next morning. AND IT WAS. He brought the car to us himself. An almost brand new Peugeot SUV [only 240 kms] and in mint condition. Drove like a dream. The reservation was made through Auto Europe you would think they would at least attempt to help their clients but that was not the case. Never again will we make that mistake !! First of all, the location of the rental office in Sevilla was advertised as being in downtown Sevilla, but in fact, it was not even in Sevilla but on a different city about 20 min by highway from downtown. Once we get there we are told they didn't have the type of car we reserved over 4 months ago. They would not provide a refund nor would they credit any portion of our payment for the car they wanted to put us in which was a tiny car not comfortable for four adults. We had to go completely out of our desired route to the town of Huelva Spain to exchange the car for the right size. Wasted 6 hours of our lives, ruined our day, had to skip visiting Evora in Portugal due to the lack of competence from Enterprise. Apparently, this is a very common practice we found out. Enterprise will agree to rent cars they don't have available and hope you are ok paying the same rate for a model at least 2 classes inferior to what you reserved. They pocket the difference and call it a day! Total crooks! Enterprise you should be ashamed of your practices! "
