" After several rentals with Goldcar in Faro, this time in Alicante the experience was very dissapointing to say the least. First, we did not get the car we booked & paid for 4 months earlier ! The counter staff was quite arrogant and in the end we were given smaller car with very high mileage ! (Fiat Tipo is definitely not the same category as Citroen Berlingo). Afterwards in the parking lot we saw several same-class vehicles we asked for but were refused ! In addition there was apre-existing damage not registered in the car's records which we had to ask to be added before driving away. I will think again before using Goldcar on our next trip. Suggestion for improvement: Get the exact car reserved at a small extra fee at the time of booking.. "

They should always have someone available so that when you drop off the car you can defend your position. " We never had any issues with Autoeurope before and it remains our go-to service for car rentals, however our recent experience with Alamo left much to be desired. I hope AutoEurope is able to fix the issue for us. Thank you "

" I've already reached out to the Customer Service and they told me to wait till the rental end, so just to reiterate - I believe this is the first time we are having an issue with Autoeurope booking being a longtime client (since at least 2012). We had a booking EU19897867 for an Audi A3 or similar, Compact Elite, and got a Cupra Formentor instead which is definitely not in the same class (we expected a BMW/Mercedes as an alternative and those are what we would usually get, not a Seat). Also, the booking EU19897846 was for an Opel Insignia Estate or similar (we needed a big trunk so we booked an estate), Standard Wagon Automatic, instead we got an Opel Grandland which is a compact SUV and not a wagon in any way. It's 50 cm shorter than Insignia Estate and has a much smaller trunk. The company representative kept telling us those are the same category cars as the ones we ordered "and I don't have anything else anyway", but we find it very hard to believe because during the booking process we saw both of those options and they had entirely different tariffs. We strongly believe that both of these cars are cheaper, different categories, and lower quality than the ones we ordered. Could you please take a look into these and make respective rate adjustments for us? We appreciate your assistance on this matter! "

" The car was really good, pickup was OK-ish. Some comments: - I arrived 4 hours later than expected and was told that the car was only kept for 2 hours after the agreed pickup time and I was extremely lucky they did not give my car to soeone else. I was very surprised to hear that. - Joy overwhelmed me when I was told that the insurance was full coverage although I did not order this. My joy vanished when I realized later that I signed a document that the PRICE TRIPLED COMPARED TO THE INITIAL AGREEMENT!!???!! The change in price was not even mentioned to me and I was asked to sign the paper quickly. I know I should have read it but still this is not an honest way to do business. - When returning the vehicle, there was 1 customer waiting in front of me. The lady at the counter clearly was not interested in handling the next customer and kep on telling the story of het whole life to the customer in front of me without keeping the queue in mind. Finally I left and dropped the keys in the drop box. "

" We tried twice to fill up the car's tank, but it was very hard as the gasoline pump was stopping from the 3/4 of the tank: the second time, we insisted to fill drop by drop for at least a quarter of an hour. We coplained to the staff but they insisted that the car is an a good condition ( Jeep Compass 4xe) and we have to fill it up. "

" Instead of an Intermediate SUV Class car (Skoda Karoq or similar) I have received a Compact SUV Class Car (Volkswagen T-Cross). Additionally, the tank wasn't full at that moment (there were about 8-10 l petrol missing). The lady form the Firefly office told me to take the car as it was, because they have no possibility to change it. When I returned the car I brought it with full tank, to avoid unexpected delay. "

Finally, for the first time they ask me to fill up with fuel very close to the airport and keep the receipt. In any case I did it to avoid any charges and I also kept a video of the car! "

The global website of Thrifty did not show Alicante train station, only Alicante airport as a location. So, I called AutoEurope and Thrifty Alicante train station phone numbers, but nobody picked up as they were not yet open. Weird thing is that when I checked the thrifty.es website, Alicante train station location can be found. At the pickup location, I could not find a dedicated Thrify location, there were Hertz, SixT etc. Then, with help from a person from another rental company, realized that Thrifty (and Dollar) were part of the Hertz location itself, they did not have a dedicated location. The board in front of the Hertz office had in very small text Thrifty also - this was not visible from far away. Only realized this when I got really close to Hertz office. Infact all documentation I received was also from Hertz, so a bit of a weird collaboration. "

" We were booking our trip day by day through Spain. At 10:00 pm one night we decided to rent a car through AutoEurope. We thought we booked it right then--a one way rental from Madrid to Barcelona. We entered all our info and credit card and then thought we were set. Only then did we get a message that our request would be processed the next day because we were asking for a one way rental. We learned that we only had a "possible" reservation and so had to go to bed not being able to make a hotel reservation for the next night and not knowing if in fact we had a car or not. We did find out 12 hours later that we did have a car so it turned out well. But I recommend you don't take reservations that you know you cannot immediately confirm, so that you don't leave customers in a zone of not know for a while. Other than that, everything was great! "

" They ask for aditional insurance. I refused and agree with deposit which was 820Eur, more that autoeurope stated in the reservation confirmation. We got Hyundai I20. Car had lot of chips and dents. It took more than half hour to check all in the dark. (aprox hour was 22) Found one not mentioned in the forms. Took a picture of it and email it. On the positive side. Car had 20000KM in good technical condition and clean. At drop-off, staff said is everything ok and I had to sign on electronic device without see what I signed for, or receive a copy. We had to see the deposit back on my credit card to be sure of that. It is a Hertz franchise, so my observations does not apply to Hertz itself, I thnik. "

" There was so kind personnel at the Madrid-Bajaras airport. And although I've reserved the lowest class vehicle (full insurance), I was offered a class higher one for the same price at the arrival, what I really appreciate a lot. The car was in a very good condition (almost new) and the price was good - at most reasonable. "

" Really easy procedure to pick up the car and drop it. "

" I didn't get in Madrid exactly the same car as wished (MB E-class), but I got one of the similar class (BMW X1). The car was very good, although I hadn't had any experience preciously with X1 and the procedure itself was very smooth, both taking the car and dropping it. However, I got the contract to my email only in spanish - which in case there was some incident would have been impossible to understand for me. GPS was in spanish, but that was not a big deal to learn a couple of words in spanish in order to use the system correctly. I was also told that when picking up the car that no sufficient insurance payment was made by me previously to Auto Europe, which I doubt a little bit, so I had to include in the payment at the spot all insurance expenses. But in overall I am very satisfied. "

" 1. I wanted to change my drop off time from 10.00am to 20.00 (still within the same day as I picked up at 22.30) but this was not possible and had to pay 63 Euro extra (40€ fee and 1 day extra rental) 2. The car under >10 scratched and had to examine myself to come up up with over 10 identified places on the car that had some damage. If I would have trusted the paper of the condition of the car I would have been very wrongly misguided "

" Enterprise are great to deal with. They didn't have a car in our category (we arrived at 2200, as planned) and had to get a car brought over from their other depot, 15 minutes away. They were apologetic, and communicated clearly with me throughout. The car they brought over was 3 or 4 classes above what we'd paid for, so we had that for the 5 days at no extra cost, of course. Nice! "
