However the attendant at Drivalia said that they were both classed at the same level and no other cars were available. So I had no choice other than to accept it. I think showing an Alfa as the class of car during booking process and then allocating a Nissan instead is a misrepresentation and I was misled. " First of all we spent 2hrs at the airport desk to get the car the persons behind the desk were taking about 40min with every person, it has never happen to us befor with other companies. 2. while we were doing the paperwork no information was given about what to do if problems happen with the car or any extra insurance etc. 3. when picking up the car there was still some dirt inside it was not completly clean (but we told the person in the garge about it and he came and cleanded it out) 4. after 2 days in the rental persiod the car started showing a message that the AD blue was out we needed to top up, ended having to stop and buying ad blue to top up the car ourselves. 5. and finally we returned the car on time and the person at the garage said the contract was closed but to our surprise after two days they charged us for an extra day as the time entered for the return was 2hrs after we actually returned the car. email was sent but no reply received. "

" There was a tremendous long line to pick up the car in Brindisi, It took us almost three hours. The counter staff was not sufficient, only one computer and about 15 minuts per customer. Awful experience, will never use DRIVALIA again. While driving the car, we got error messages from the system (eg. engine down, go to immediate service). We called many times to the contact number in Brindisi office for assistance with no answer (it was within working hours!). Luckily, these messages did not pop up again once we turned on-off the car several times and wee able to continue driving it. "

" It was a lousy day, we had to wake up at 3AM to catch the flight. But hey, we were going to Italy! At Pisa airport I received the car with the info "it is a different car", which would be standard procedure, but we actually got a DR. I asked if I needed to know anything specifically, they said no, and that it was a petrol/benzin car. Later on I figured out it was an LPG-petrol dual fuel car. I cannot know if this had anything to do with the issue, but I do think they should give information on such things. After a few ten kilometres of driving and a lovely biking trip on the walls of Lucca, we headed towards our destination on Cinqueterre. On the highway the engine just stopped. I restarted, was able to to drive another two kilometres when it happened again. And again. And again, and we ended up on a petrols tation in Massa, Versilia. Wonderful place. I tried to call the airport office of Drivalia, but the call went straight to voicemail. I called Auto Europe costumer service, where I got friendly treatment and a promise to connect me with Drivalia. After a longer wait, we were connected to an English speaking operator, ho told us, he was from the assistance partner of Drivalia, and during the week-end in Italy nothing happens, but he could send us a tow-truck. He didn't/couldn't give us information or advice how to proceed (!!!!) other than being towed to the closest garage. This happened some short time later, and we were at a local garage with no info as to how to proceed with our luggage, six year old daughter and one week worth of groceries. The owner put us in touch with an English speaking person from the road assistance company, who told us to get lost and stop holding up the people at the garage. (!!!!)At some point the owner called us a taxi to take us back to Pisa airport. Where we arrived around 7.30, and after some initial communication we were told they could not do anything without a document from the garage. We really did not expect to be responsible for the communication between Drivalia and it's road assistance. As the taxi couldn't provide us with a receit initially, we got in touch with the person, who talked to the garage owner earlier, so we manage to extract a phone number to the garage, which we gave to Drivalia personnel. They called the number, and instead of demanding the document officially, they told us the garage owner claimed he sent us said document via whatsapp (!!!!). This message never arrived. Time went by, the groceries lost their freshness (to put it mildly), and our daughter tried to sleep in the waiting area. At last, after 11pm, when I asked them to call a taxi that we could go to a hotel, they told us their boss gave them green light at last and they got permission to give us a replacement car. This could be called a happy end, but we were still one hour and a half away from our accommodation, and driving the hill roads in the dark during the night is rather not relaxing. Plus it wasn't over, we were obliged to retrieve said document from the garage. (!!!!!!!!!!). As got to sleep around 2PM (after waking up at 3pm the previous morning to catch our flight), the next day we weren't ready to start our holiday. tHe following day, however, we started to call after the document. Auto Europe customer service advised us to get it (saying very correctly, it was not in the hands of AE). Drivalia costumer service assured us, they see the problem in their system, but cannot do anything about it, but (Kafka alert!), we can call their assistance partner on the same number, but another extension, and ask them. No, they cannot ask for it themselves via official channels. It was our duty. So we called the road assistance on extension 1 (super Kafka alert!), and they told us, they cannot give such documents without being asked officially by Drivalia. OK, I cut it short, although we spent more than 2 hours on the phone. In the end, they contacted the garage for us, who claimed to have sent the document to my email, and after a second round of calling, they really sent the document to Drivalia. In essence, we lost the first two days of our holiday (one of them only partially), were forced to work for hours, paid 170 for a taxi drive and had to eat food, which lost most of its quality for a week. "

We could not find enough charge stations for our trip so had to drop it off the next day (no refund was given), and had to figure out the complicated public transportation system on the fly. Would. The drop off was about a 10 minute drive from the airport and I had to ask other rental companies to find this out. Called customer services and they didn't answer the phone. "

The first car provided broke down and the customer support call centre closed for the weekend. This left us stranded without a car some 100km from our accommodation in Tuscany IT. The whole support network at DRIVALIA was useless and it was left to us to pay for transport and make our own way their nearest rental office in Florence. This was not until the next day. " Waited for the car longer than the flight to Brindisi took (huge line, very slow service). But got a better car than requested (huge SUV instead of fiat 500) which was nice, but might be a problem for some people. Also the tank on the car was half full when we got it, not full, which was strange, and there was no one from Drivalia to check this with (and I didn't want to go back to the counter/line, since the man there had a line of customer and spoke little english) So the human element was bad, everything else good. "

" We had to wait for well over an hour at the airport to collect our car. We were then given a car which was not the one reserved BUT told it was the same category. We then had to take a bus to get to the car only to find that the car was actually smaller than the reserved car. By then we had spent over 2 hours at the airport. At drop off the office was closed and we had to go to ARRIVALS to drop off the key and found a long line of people waiting to collect their car. The. Once done had to walk to departures. "
