" HI Lady at Hertz Linate was a trainee and she sounded pretty unsure of how things work. The senior male staff member was not helping her at all and I must say that he was pretty arrogant as well. Although we spoke in English, it happened that i am very capable in the Italian language as well and I could sense and very well understand his unwillingness to assist. To add an extra driver, we were told that we had to travel from Switzerland ( our final destination) back to Milan and present a true copy of a driving license since the extra driver was joining us in Switzerland and we only had a true copy. We then called Hertz at Lugano in Switzerland and the gentleman at the desk was exceptionally courteous. We were fined SFR200 in Switzerland because the van did not have the vignette, which was apparently removed from van before it was given to us as glue was still visible. The traffic police wanted to fine us because the front tyres were 'winter tyres' and since we protested that as normal drivers we were not in a position to determine what kind of tyres were installed in van, he insisted that supplier was duty bound to ensure tyres were summer ones. We pinpointed this to the Hertz staff at the drop-off. We had to experience a delay in our return flight and since we were informed beforehand, we delivered the van 1hr40m late. To our amazement, we had to pay eu99 for the under 2 hrs delay. We think that this is absolutely exorbitant charges. The vehicle ran smoothly although it did have some nasty dents and blemishes. So as one may notice, we cannot say that we had a positive experience at all. thks S Axisa "

I've arrived at the car park where car and child seat should be located, but unexpectedly, assistants said they don't have any 0-13kg category child seats for me, and suggested me to go and buy seat myself (10minutes drive to shopping center + some time there and back ~ 1.2hours). Car rental company promised that they will refund money (137 euros) + refund my purchase as apologise for inconvenience they made for my family. When I returned car with baby seat, they refunded only 137 euros I've paid for "renting" not existing baby seat, and then took my car seat. But didn't paid for that. "

No attempt was made to either meet me at the arrivals or leave a key to the vehicle. I was angry and upset to say the least and consider you should refund my charges in full. I have statements from taxi drivers and from other persons on my flight who witnessed what I was put through. I am 79 years of age and was treated disgracefully.
