At the return there was a big line at the booth and the only 2 agents working there were both helping people pick up cars. There was no agent available to return the car to, so I either had to wait for more than 1 hour and maybe miss my flight (at that point I had no idea how fast security would be) or I could return the car as if it was outside of office hours. So I dropped the key with the paperwork as instructed onto the agents desk. The car was undamaged and in clean condition (I even vacuumed the inside before returning it) Somehow there has been a extra charge of almost 120 Euros to my credit card without any notice from thrifty. I reached out to the customersupport, but so far there has not been even an automatic answer. After 72 hours I will revoke the uncommented payment. "

" I have used Auto Europe before and have been happy with everything. This was the first time there was ever any problems with the rental. Auto Europe should consider if it is wise to have Thrifty as their business partner as Thrifty's bad reviews and horrible customer service and cheating will affect also Auto Europe's reputation. Thrifty also on several occasions has claimed that it is not good to use Auto Europe and that Auto Europe is the one cheating and not Thrifty. I hope I can continue to use your services when booking a car but never ever again from Thrifty! "
" We will never use Thrifty again as this company at Malaga airport is a total scam. I am so sorry that I didn't read the Google reviews (1,7!) before deciding on the rental company. We did want a full coverage insurance from them but the first one they offered was very expensive and we then took the next option which was their Super coverage insurance. At the desk nobody explained what this included and everything was very unclear. Our rental fee paid to Auto Europe was cheap but after the insurance and the young driver's extra fee, we had to pay 350€ extra to Thrifty. They told us that next time it would be much better to rent from them directly and not use Auto Europe. They also charged us the airport charge, about 40€, which I later realized was already included on Auto Europe rental fee and was mentioned on out rental voucher from Auto Europe. I showed this to them when returning the car but the lady refused to return the fee and said that it always has to be paid directly to Thrifty. I will be making an official complaint about this to Auto Europe to get the money back. Thriftt also took a preauthorization of extra 150€ "fueling insurance" on my credit card and said that it will not be charged if we return the car with a full tank. This was not specified anywhere on the rental agreement paper from Thrifty. We asked about this when returning the car and the lady asked for a fueling receipt because according to her the fuel tank was not full! However, having read the reviews during our trip, we had indeed taken the receipt when fueling the car at the airport petrol station! So she had to return the 150€ fee to us. At first she refused to give us a proper receipt of the final cost but as we insisted she had to give it to us. The earlier rental agreement was only showing the estimated rental costs, not the actual costs. So my advice to you: do not use Thrifty at all! And if you do for some reason, please read the reviews so you will know all the problems there might be. Be careful what you sign and take full insurance and the receipt when fueling before returning the car. This company is a total scam and they will cheat you every way they can! "

The aircraft landed early into Barcelona Terminal 1, we walked to the car rental area (Hertz, as Thrifty is part of herts in Australia) only to be told that we had to now travel by the green terminal bus to terminal 2. This is due to Thrifty no longer being part of Hertz, in Spain. This explained the total lack of "Thrifty car rental" signs at terminal 1. Upon arrival at T2, there was zero signage for the Thrifty car rental company, let alone any others. Asking 2 airport staff where the car rental ares is located, we were directed down stairs and to the far end of the terminal. There we found every imaginable rental car company, but no Thrifty. I asked Hertz staff where Thrifty was located only to be directed it across the road to the car park, where Thrifty was located in the big blue building. We waited 30 minutes for our turn, and were promptly served by staff . She was very pleasant, efficient at her job and explained all we needed to know. Tried to scare us with the insurance and the large block to be placed in the car if we do not accept their insurance. She process our booking and advised we had a "new car" which I was pleased about, however when we found the car, it had dents and scratches on it. I opened the boot (trunk) and the terrible smell of cigarette smoke wafted straight out. I immediately returned to the office and requested another car. The gentleman whom served me was very understanding and provided a replacement car. This replacement was also relatively new (driven only 8500km). This car had even more larger dents, scratches but most importantly did not smell of cigarettes. It took over 1 hour to get a suitable car from Thrifty. Return of the car was ok. The same lady that originally checked us in, checked over the car for the return. She immediately found the damage, (which was already identified on their paperwork) and at our pickup, with our photos, and progressed to question me about it. However if she had of reviewed the paperwork they provide, the damage was already recorded. Thankfully I took photos at collection and provided these to her. Satisfied the damage was not my doing, she checked the fuel and was happy to close the return. I was offered a T-ROC (boot space of 440L) and Opel Grandland Hybrid (boot space of 390L). Tried fitting the luggage but it didn't. Thrifty said I had no option but to upgrade despite having two Peugeot 3008 in the parking lot which was reserved for other customer. I was offered Subaru Outback (boot space of 550L) as an upgrade with additional payment of EUR 150+ which was more than what I had initially paid for my rental. Last time I traveled alone and had booked a TCross which was sufficient for my requirements. Reason I booked a Peugeot 3008 was because of a large boot space. Even on Thrifty website they have mentioned that this category can hold 5 luggage but unfortunately the other cars offered didn't. "

" On Sunday morning, because Alicante train station Thrifty location was not showing on google maps, I checked the Thrifty website if Alicante train station is there as a location. The global website of Thrifty did not show Alicante train station, only Alicante airport as a location. So, I called AutoEurope and Thrifty Alicante train station phone numbers, but nobody picked up as they were not yet open. Weird thing is that when I checked the thrifty.es website, Alicante train station location can be found. At the pickup location, I could not find a dedicated Thrify location, there were Hertz, SixT etc. Then, with help from a person from another rental company, realized that Thrifty (and Dollar) were part of the Hertz location itself, they did not have a dedicated location. The board in front of the Hertz office had in very small text Thrifty also - this was not visible from far away. Only realized this when I got really close to Hertz office. Infact all documentation I received was also from Hertz, so a bit of a weird collaboration. "

The car had minor damages on the every side (it was reflected in the registry of existing damages via photos). Fortunately, we made additional photos. It helped to argue during drop-off that there were no new scratches. But it was the clear risk of charge. Overall experience is good, almost very good. Just be prepared and make sure all scratches are marked at the start. "

" it happenned that we have missed the flight to Palma and arrived one day later than car was booked. I tried to reach Autoeuropa by phone and mail to inform about this. I also called Trifty but noone picked up (i called Trifty at Palma, at Madrid.. noone could give me correct tel num of the branch in airport PMI). When we came tp PMI we saw that office was closed and other renting company was handling Trifty bookings. I suppose that was the reason why noone picked up the phone mentioned at booking form. There were no any penalties or fines so we get our car without problems. "

" I have been using Auto Europe for several years and I am always satisfied "
" I was told the tank was full. The fuel consumption was, according to dash computer, 6.9 l/100km. After +/- 140 km i filled the tank to the brim: 12.9 liters (which shows that the tank was not full at the offset). I drove another +/- 35 km before turning the car in (in total I drove 176 km) so I used approx. 2.5 litres. I have just received an adjustment of the invoice from Hertz, where they charge me for 9 (nine !!) litres of fuel plus handling charges, 37.74€ total. This is outright dishonest. I did not get a full tank; I did not leave the tank missing 9 litres. "

" Even though when renting at Thrifty through you I am very satisfied about that experience I only rented at thrifty for 1 day. The next day I rented at InterCar also via you and that was one of the most horrible experience ever. Within half of an hor time frame that i was at the counter, 3 other customers got into issues with the InterCar personal about feeling ripped off, a police man even had to come to the counter the check everything was allright, and we felt totally unsafe to rent a car for a week at InterCar via you, because we felt there was a high percentage we would ge ripped off as well. Also InterCar asked a 800 euro deposit for car + 190 for gas = 990 euro deposit !! We called with your customer service about the issues and that we didnt want to rent at this company as it felt so unsafe. But you told us we couldn't cancel the reservations anymore, and couldn't pick another company to rent a car with. Also we couldn't get our money back on the already payed rental for a week?!! Which i think is awfull. We ended up NOTrenting/getting the car at InterCar because they just felt to unsafe and ended up renting a car at EuropCar instead. This meant we had to pay double rent fees. The one for the week for you, for which we didnt even took the car!! And the rent at EuropCar. We would really want to get the money back for the renting of the car that we didnt even rent! "
