" We were extremely disappointed with our recent experience with Hertz in Malaga. At the time of rental, the agent in Malaga upsold us on a better car, clearly stating the price we would need to pay. However, upon returning the car, we received no clear information regarding the final invoice--only that a certain amount would be withheld from our deposit. Later, we were sent an invoice in Spanish without any explanation. To our surprise, the amount charged was €300 higher than what the agent had told us. We attempted to contact Hertz Spain numerous times--calling repeatedly over several days--but no one ever answered. Emails were only met with automated responses, and at no point did anyone explain the reason for the additional charge. After translating the invoice ourselves, we found that the extra fee was apparently for additional rental days--something we absolutely did not use. We returned the car on time and have no idea why we were charged for days we didn't use. The company showed zero willingness to explain or clarify the charges. The lack of transparency and customer support strongly suggests a business model focused more on misleading and overcharging customers than on providing honest service. We are extremely dissatisfied and feel cheated by this experience. "

" We were booking our trip day by day through Spain. At 10:00 pm one night we decided to rent a car through AutoEurope. We thought we booked it right then--a one way rental from Madrid to Barcelona. We entered all our info and credit card and then thought we were set. Only then did we get a message that our request would be processed the next day because we were asking for a one way rental. We learned that we only had a "possible" reservation and so had to go to bed not being able to make a hotel reservation for the next night and not knowing if in fact we had a car or not. We did find out 12 hours later that we did have a car so it turned out well. But I recommend you don't take reservations that you know you cannot immediately confirm, so that you don't leave customers in a zone of not know for a while. Other than that, everything was great! "

Then she said that she would - looking at out golfbags - w recomend that we make an upgrade - to an Mercedes CLA. Now i know my cars. Thats a downsize when it comes to size from an BMW X2. And the worst part. The socalled upgrade would cost me 45 euros a day! At the end i got at Lynk & co 1 which by definition is not in the premier segment as would mother company Volvo bee. The least disapointing by the whole experience was the cleaning fee afterwords of an ekstra 72 euros (for some grass in the boot from our clubs. So why on earth should i go with Hertz again? "

" Hi, I was not impressed with the attitude of the attendant on picking up the car - when inspected by myself the car has many dents and scratches and was not cleaned inside and out. I was so tired to go and complain at the time as I also had to take more pictures of around the car as some scratches were not on the documents. Not very happy at all. I previously had a car before hand with SIXT and had a lovely experience with them, the car was new and very clean and the service was exactly as it should be. I would never book a car from Autoeurope again. I really should be compensated for having to clean the car inside and out and the inconvenience caused. " I was surprised to find out that they wanted to take a 950 Euro deposit when I picked up the car using your voucher. Whenever I rented directly from Hertz in the past the deposit was around 300 Euro or the cost of the rental. As my credit cards limit is just little over 1000 Euro I had to buy the additional insurance offered by Hertz to not use up my whole credit limit. In this way the rental costed my twice as it would have costed if I rented directly from Hertz. In other words it was to disadvantage to rent the car through Auto Europe. Probably I will not do it in the future. "

" I asked for an upgrade at Santiago aiport.They gave me a Hyundai I40 diesel for 5 euros/day that's fair.They couldn't explain why the excess was not 1050 but apr. 1350 Euros(they told me that this is what they charge and didn't accept what was written clearly on the voucher).Furthermore the car had several damages not only scratches(some of them rusty seem to be done several months later-unacceptable for Hertz).I took pictures (That saved money for me).During the drop off procedure at Santander Airport,the local Hertz officer said that the pictures they had in their computer didn't look the same as the damages on the car.Finally they accepted the pictures from my phone as they were captured at Hertz parking lot Santiago (with date on them) "

" Ive rented a car from Herz through www.autoeurope.eu since 9th of May till 13th of May, picking up in Malaga. I chose the car and paid the money to Autoeurope (voucher EU10644555). When in Malaga I asked at Herz desk for the car rented I was told that they didnt have such car available and can offer another one with automatic transmission. I agreed and they held 224 euros for that car. After I returned the car (same condition, full tank) and money released, Hertz charged 165.29 EUR from my account (despite the fact on May 9th 163.99 EUR were charged by Autoeurope). So I paid almost TWICE for this rent. I asked Hertz to provide details on the transaction, but they ignored me. Please clarify the situation. Thanks "
" The pickup in Sevilla was slightly awkward as the office is outside in the car lot and there is no signage anywhere in the train station with this information. The Hertz employee insisted upon the wrong return time (even when questioned) and the return place we were told in Alicante was incorrect. When I called Auto Europe they said I had to speak to Hertz directly--they could do nothing to help or offer any information. "

Told specifically in Sevilla (and given paperwork with same info CIRCLED) that the car must be returned by 4pm (90 minutes earlier than picked up) at the Alicante train station. There is no Hertz office at the Alicante train station. The Hertz phone # rang with no answer and no recorded message from 2pm-4pm, AutoEurope no help. Finally found Hertz office a few blocks from the train station. Closed 1:30-4pm. ALL other car rental offices open all afternoon. Hertz reopened at 4:06pm. Said we must return car to an underground parking nearby and deposit keys in a dropbox on 2nd level. Said we could have done that all afternoon.Late for an appt. "

My plain was delayed so I contacted the provider (hertz) and told them my flight would be late and they said they would stay open. They did not stay open, so I was forced to sleep in the airport. In the morning, Hertz said they would not honor my rental. So I was forced to pay for another car rental! So I essentially paid twice for the same car! I spoke with AutoEurope and I do not believe they did as much as they could to help me. I believe it is equivalent to theft what happened to me and am prepared to contact the proper authorities. I expect to have on of my rentals reimbursed! I have rented many cars with you and will never do it again if this is not corrected. "
