I asked if I could not just have the car which was reserved for me and they said no. I had to contact Auto Europ. I tried to call there emergency number and was put on hold for 45 minutes. " Due to health issue I had to cancel the booking 48hr before pickup. The Auto Europe website that I did my booking does not allow you to cancel. All my booking process was done from Canada, I was in France. I did not have a phone to call. I went 48hrs prior to the rental place, Hertz in Nice and they could not cancel. When I called Auto Europe 2 hours before pickup to cancel and the only answer I got was 'No refund'. Auto Europe Canada has on their website that if you cancel before pickup you are going to be charged only $75. Not for me. Auto Europe is not like other car rental websites in North America where cancellation process is convenient for the customer. Worst experience for me with a car rental company. Don't be fooled by what they said in their website regarding cancellation. It is not designed to work for the customer but for them. Have done several complains through their website but no answer at all. "
