" Windows of the car were filthy dirty. We asked the chap at the Gold Car (from whom we were told to pick up the car) kiosk if we could have them cleaned and he intimated that we should use the windscreen washer. We then told him most of the dirt was on the inside and he proceeded to clean the inside on the passenger side of the car only. We had to follow him and request he clean the inside on the driver's side which he completely reluctantly. A very poor attempt had been made to clean the inside of the car prior to us taking out the vehicle. One of the two strings for lifting the boot cover when one opens the boot was broken, with the result that each time one opened the boot/trunk the cover fell into the boot. Most annoying. Chap at Gold star not interested. We had to disconnect the single string which meant accessing the boot most ackward and not what would expect. My booking directed me to the Europcar desk in the airport. I queed for service in the airport terminal only then to be directed to the interrent desk and then had to join the que again. My booking clearly stated a Renault Megane was booked for us. I do understand that you cannot guarantee the exact make but a similar car would be expected.! The lady at the desk told me that they ONLY rent Fiat cars. This is nowhere remotely similar to Renault Megane. This is not what you advertised on the websites. I checked the interrent site a few minutes before writing this email and it advertises a number of different models of vehicles as do the other websites who offer the customer so called value for money. How can this be? Are you allowed advertise different makes of cars and then provide no option to the customer after they have made their booking and flown to their destination to pick up their chosen vehicle? "

" after experiencing a horrible experience with Goldcar in the past, what a surprise when I found out that Goldcar and Interrent are 1 rental company. the condition of insurance coverage is the worse. they propose 2 options : 1- take an additional insurance (133 eur) which cost more than your actual rental (86 eur) 2- deposit of 1500 euros from your credit meaning they actually deduct 1500 from your credit card and what ever happen to the car if it is your fault or not you will be deducted 1500 euros from your credit card. thank god nothing happen to the car but I am still on hold of the deposit back which takes up to 10 days. Imagine 10 days when you travel every and you need the fund available in your credit card.... Basically Gold card/Interrent run away ! "

The next day we had to take time to take a picture, retrieve email, write to agency (I personnally have better things to do when I'm on holidays). The tank was not full - only around 7/8. We filled it to the top again, as it's impossible to estimate how much it the tank contains and how much would be enough to get back to the pick up level. And the very kind lady at drop off said that anyway if the car was not full (and this applies to as low as 2/8) it was going to be filled up by you, it would be up to the costumer to bring it back at the same level "

It took over two hours to figure out a solution and by contacting the tow truck driver they were able to open the vehicle on location . Terrible staff, rude and ignorant . "

This is very strange, in the condiditions that there is the same insurance system (France and Monaco). It was the same for Italy. 2. For the authorization to go in Monaco, they were applying the strangest system: the total rental period one. I was at their desk, in Nice airport, on the 5th day, asking for authorization to go in Monaco, just for 1 day, but they forced me to pay even for the other 4 past days that I didn't travel anywhere except Nice, and the 3 following days, that I was not travelling to Monaco, at all. I insisted that it's not normal to charge me for an 8 day authorization. I stated that this was theft, but they were not impressed at all. At the end of the discussions I accepted to be robbed 80 euro, so I wouldn't ruin the vacations for my familly, waiting outside under the sun. 3. At the counter, in the moment of pick up, they tried to make me pay extra money, at any cost, stating that the contract I dealt with Auto Europe, was not enough. " Great value for money. INTERENT have an odd way of dealing with damage as the renter is expected to take photos of any scratches etc before taking the car off the parking lot. They do not mark any damage that accumulates on the car. They also expect the renter to clean the car inside and outside before return (otherwise 14 Euro fine applies. "
