For return the process was super slow as well as the counter didn't deal with return but left the operation only for the shuttle driver, who since is driving people back & forth to the airport wasn't always around - although people had flights to catch "

" I took insurance with autoeurope but that insurance is not very welcomed by any of the rentals company so you should really stop pushing your insurance because they are very picky about outside insurance and I will not buy insurance from your website anymore since it is waste of money. No matter what you say how easy it is not welcomed by rentals and they have completelly different approach to a customer with your insurance or customer who buys directly from them. At the end I ended up with both insurances and when I returned my car they didn't look at my car but another customer which kept only yours ended up with many problems during return due some scratches and even not clean car. Mine was very dirty and dusty from outside. "

Upon the advice of a colleague, I booked this car with Auto Europe, from the Airport in Athens literally 90 minutes before arriving in Chania. - - I would like to request a refund, as I was unable to complete the rental due to a problem with international drivers license. Both the Goldcar counter and Auto Europe customer service, whom we called while at the Goldcar counter, denied a refund and referred to the terms and conditions. I understand that but this is not high season and there are rental cars available everehere in Chania. I do understand if there is an administrative fee, but to deny any refund at all seems like nothing more than a cash grab especially when the booking was only 2 hours previous and there are lots of vehicles available. I was trying to call them from the airport to come and transfer us to the office but without success in spite of my seven phone calls. By the way another ten people were waiting for them at the airport and some of them were kept behind for the second minibus because of no space on the first one. " At Goldcar we were informed that we need a credit card to rent our car (cover our insurance) and debit card is NOT excepted. Some peole have no credit cards, so I really would have liked to see a NOTE next to our reservation with BIG BOLD letters that we need that! Not with a small discloser where you can't see it at all. My american girlfriend did have a credit card but the company did NOT accept that! All over the world it would have been acceptable even though the reservation wasn't under her name. Next, we called Auto Europe. It was super difficult because there was NO direct contact number for customer service. After a long hassle, we talked to someone who informed us if we cancel our reservation and make another one under my girlfriend name we need to pay a cancellation fee, the new booking under her name would be a much higher price and plus another fee so I can drive the car. I'm asking: couldn't we just have changed/switched the names on the reservation? Simple is that. And why can't my girlfriend be the one paying for the rental and me be the driver? Why do we have to pay extra for that? Why does the company forces the paying party to be the driver? For example my 80 year old Mom can't pay for my car? This system is extremly unflexable and not customer friendly, at least for turists from different parts of the world where they are used to a more organized and more responsive service. One more thing. 2 years ago we were able to rent a car with a debit card ONLY. Our experience was a surprise at this time. "

I told them to pay in cash the extra 50 euros but they said that they would cancel the rent. " Hi, My feedback is based on the following aspects: - we paid for a full automatic car, but we received a semi-automatic car and it was a challenge to complete a trip even on smalls roads in the slopes of Athens or surrounding - no discounts were provided for what car we paid vs. what car we received - the car was full of small kicks on all the sides - we were not announced in advance that we need to block an additional amount of money for the fuel, around 150 euro - it was something that we should have been announced in advanced. - it was quite difficult to find the point for vehicle collection at the airport as it was not specified in advance or properly indicated with signs in the airport - the customer experience was very poor, the staff could have been more friendly - we dind't received any information email after we returned the car to confirm that everything is ok and the amount of money blocked will be refund in x days... we were just waiting and hoping to see the money in the bank account Our overall feeling is that the car and full process with Goldcar was not a pleasant experience (especially when you are on holiday) and didn't reach the value for money. " Could not reach Auto Europe on the phone when had a problem with Goldcar regarding the reservation (Goldcar did not have information in their system that they were supposed to provide car of the higher class). "
" Waited about 30 minutes for pickup from the airport. Had an upgrade of one class up written on the reservation but Goldcar did not have that information in their system. Thanks to the staff after long discussion with them they agreed to give a car of a higher class. "
