" I booked a car - showed up and Hertz for Dollar didn't want to give me to have the car. They cancelled the contract and now I haven't been able to get repaid what I paid for the car. I had to rent a hotel room, and it gave me and my two daughters (6yr and 9yr) a great deal of stress. The day after they still declined to give me the car. Eventually I walked over to Europecar and the rented me a car, but it cost me €1300, instead of the €800ish I already had paid to Autoeurope :@ "

" I had a lot of experience with AUTO EUROPE, normally very positive. This time the interaction with Dollar was not that brilliant. I chose for 4 persons Midsize in the table and the car in the vaucher was "compact, Ford focus or similar" , 4 passengers. (I intentially decided to pay more to get more space.) At the counter they said that they give me Citroen C3 and that it was the same class! Though from the AUTO EUROPE table I see the C3 in Economy! So in the lack of time I had no other option than to upgrade. I was told that the upgrade will be 150 euro. But now they bill me also the tax 30 euro. So, I need to pay additionally 180 for what I have supposed to have already in my voucher!! "

Yes, the car was very nice and modern. It was not very clean from inside, had a lot of scratches from outside. You cannot study all of them at the very narrow parking place and compare with what they put in the electronic supplement to the rental agreement. So I had to make a detailed photo and video all arround the car in order not to get problems later. Waisting of time though. Not to forget the franchise which is 1600 euro. From the beginning of the rental the panel of the car displayed a message - service required. I notified this to a personel, they said that I could go with this, but it made me a little nervous. "

" Hello, My direct experience (only one) with Dollar/Hertz was not so good. Consequently, I have a complaint related to contract 55/6909010 (Hertz number). I mention that I have submitted this complaint direct to Hertz, too, and I did not receive any answer yet. I made the reservation for a car in Lyon Saint Exupery through Auto Europe since the end of Nov.2019 when I paid the entire price for the period of Feb.2020, 01-08 (1 week). I picked up the car according to schedule from Dollar/Hertz Saint Exupery on Saturday, Feb. 1st, at 7.20 PM. It was a Jeep Renegade. My destination was Les Menuires (Les 3 Vallees ski domain). I was with my family (wife and 2 kids), 4 luggage and 1 ski equipment. Unfortunately, at 10 PM approx., around 15 km before arriving to our destination, on the uphill, suddenly we sensed a strong smell of brakes/clutch and we lost traction in 2nd gear. I stopped the car and my wife called Hertz for assistance. We received a first answer that an assistance car would come in 45-60 minutes. After 60 minutes we called again, and the new answer was astonishing – that no car touring service could be found and we have to wait until Sunday (next day) for physical assistance and we were advised to drive this car till the destination! ... we were with 2 kids in the night, in a smelling car... We managed to send the kids and luggage with somebody else to destination and after more 30 minutes of discussion with Hertz Assistance, we drove the smelling car and arrived at destination, at around 12.15 AM. Sunday Feb.2nd, the Hertz Assistance was closed, but a platform came to pick up the car around 5 PM. I moved the car up on the platform and during those 2 minutes the smell was back again. Even the guy with the platform, being outside the Jeep, mentioned me that he senses that smell. Monday and Tuesday (Feb 3rd and 4th), my wife was in discussion with various employees from Hertz Assistance (customer service file was registered L45873682). The feedback from Assistance was very poor including the proposal of C class car which was not fit in our case, never to mention that during 11AM shift the support lady hung up the phone twice in our face, which is unacceptable. My wife was multiple times called during this stay while she was on sky slope and therefore, our vacation turned into a continuous dialog with Hertz Assistance instead of enjoying what we have come for, and this was ski with our kids... Finally, Wednesday Feb 5th a nice employee told us that she had found a similar D class car and Thursday (Feb 6th) I picked up a Renault Captur from Hertz Moutiers (the closest agency from Les Menuires), around 10.45 AM. I give back the Renault at Hertz Saint Exupery on Feb 8th, around 5 PM, with full tank, according to the agreement, and the front desk officer was very nice. So, we were without any car on Feb 2, 3, 4, 5 plus Feb 1st when we didn't arrive properly at our destination, but with a major discomfort. We benefited effectively of the car on Feb 6, 7 and 8. We are truly disappointed about the service of Hertz Assistance where we found only a couple of people who were really trying to solve our issue. We are expecting for the reimbursement for all days without car and for compensation due to the discomfort created during our kids ski holiday. I walked 15 minutes, with luggage, in the heat, could not find the parking; phoned DOLLAR to be told that they had moved to within the station at Bordeaux ABOUT A YEAR AGO! Returned to the station on foot and complained but the staff explained that the problem was not under their control because they had asked all websites to update the address many times. " Well, Not too good: The pickup office in Paris was closed on Sunday - our pick up time was 10 AM Sunday morning. We had one hour on the phone with Auto Europe trying to arrange another car. We had to take taxi to airport - pick up a short notice Euro car which was much much more expensive. We are trying to resolve this with Auto Europe now. They have been very cooperative so far. We expect our final cost to be no more then our origional reservation. And our taxi, cell phone bill also to be covered. "

We used the car only for one day and returned thereafter. No connection was possible to the 089number despite multiple trials. Also at the Hertz pick-up they did not change it and I paid for three days instead of 1. Reimbursement would be highly appreciated. "
