" My voucher indicated pickup from Heathrow terminals 2, 3 or 4. I waited at the T4 rental car shuttle point for over 30 minutes before getting suspicious. The driver of the Budget van waiting there radioed to his other vans to tell a SIXT van driver that they had a client waiting for pickup at T4. After a ten minute wait, the helpful driver informed me that a SIXT van driver said that SIXT no longer collect passengers from T4. I called SIXT and was connected to someone who seemed to have trouble speaking English and the line was very weak. With the language issue and all the background noise, I could barely make out what was being said. I tried to explain my situation but the person at the other end of the line insisted on having my answers to a load of questions which were totally irrelevant to my situation. After much wasted time, I was told to take the underground shuttle to T5 then go to the SIXT office at the SOFITEL hotel. I did this with three pieces of luggage in tow. This entailed manoevering down to the train platform at T4, waiting 20 minutes for the train departure, getting off after one stop at T2/3, finding another train platform, waiting about 10 minutes then manhandling my suitcases onto a second train and getting off at T5. Sign-posting to SOFITEL is poor, so it took about ten minutes to find the right lift to take, followed by a long walk along wide corridors. Reaching the SIXT counter was like getting to heaven. The person who dealt with my rental couldn't possibly have been more helpful. He was sympathetic about the misleading information on my voucher and indicated that he would flag the problem. Excellent handover and friendly service, but zero points for whoever formats your vouchers. "

" Hi, we did not at all get the car we were supposed to get - instead a minimal Audi Q2 was offered. Had to upgrade for a lot of money to a totally different category. Not acceptable, but not the biggest problem. The real problem was that on the Volvo V90 we hade after the upgrade was actually totally dangerous - we had been driving 70 mph on the high-way and once heading back day four we noticed a BIG and DEEP (to the wires) cut in the side-wall of the front tire. Sixt had put my family in total danger! there was a damage on the front rim from earlier mentioned, so I had taken pictures of it in the dark parking garage before we drove out - I checked the photos and the same cut was already there. I did though not notice in the dark. Sixt or any rental company is answering for that the car is good shape and safe - the renter does not need to be the technician here. They addmitted the mistake when returning the car, BUT a fe days later I got a request from another department that there are new damages to the car...on the tire. Totally no process or quality in place! I've requested the money back, but have not heard from them in a wek now. frustrating and utterly chocked still to have put my family in total danger! This could have ended real badly! "

Ms Marta S. from the Reservations Team was very helpful indeed and I received a new & corrected contract in less than 24 hours! "

The Sixt desk & depot are virtually smack on Heathrow Terminal 5 (inside Sofitel hotel!). it took as no more than 3 minutes to walk to the desk from the Arrivals Hall. I especially liked the flex-fuel scheme. No more trouble trying to find a fuel station to fill up the car before drop-off. After i arrived at the branch from the airport I waited for more than an hour to be served, however this was understandable since everyone looked busy. When I was given the car, i immediately noticed that the car was not in a good condition for rental since it was dirty both from the exterior and interior. This was unacceptable since I was going to rent the car for 14 days, I spoke to Hassan who was the manager in charge and he offered to wash the car for us but this was going to take a lot of time. I could not afford to waste all this time just to pick up a car rental. He understood and instead he offered to give us a discount on our drop off. When i arrived to drop off the car on the 15th of August, I showed the paper on which Hassan signed to give us this discount. However i was told that this discount could not be given since i had already prepaid my rental. This was unacceptable since i only accepted the car in that condition since i was offered the discount. Even though i was extremely disappointed with the service before leaving the office since we had a plane to catch, I was offered upgrade vouchers by Omar,which i was promised that i will be receiving via email. In this context we would like to expect a little bit more carefulness from Autoeurope while selecting rental car companies as their partners, definitiely excluding companies such as Sixt from their customer offerings. " The Sixt representative at the counter (Ms Mcalpine) seemed to be quite friendly at the beginning of the rental process, yet immediately started to agressively try to upsell additional insurance coverage (especially their Sixt premium insurance package including the waiver of the 'excess' cost in case of a potential damage to or theft of the vehicle ). Unfortunately even after having explained several times that I wouldn't need any additional coverage (since I had bought Auto Europe's 'Super Cover' option) she relentlessy threatened me with what could happen that was not insured trying to persuade me that additional insurance was almost a question deciding between life and death! Once she became aware of us not being willing to buy additional coverage from her she turned angy and became downright unpleasant not even properly seeing us off (while not sensitizing us to bring back the car with a full tank nor telling us where we could find the car on the rental car parking lot). In addition we actually made reserveration for a Compact SUV (Opel Mokka or similar car), but instead we were given by Ms Mcalpine an ordinary Skoda Octavia that was definitively far from what we expected or had opted for (may be as a consequence for her unsuccessful attempt to upsell additional coverage options to us?). After all this recent car rental with Sixt represented an extremely unsatisfactory customer experience for us. So we will definitely never book a car from Sixt again nor will we recommend such a rental to any of our friendy or colleagues. "

" Car function menu was all in Italian at the pick up. Glad we saw it before leaving, otherwise I'm not sure how could we change it back to English. Officer at the drop-off marked two extremely tiny spots (not visible standing one meter from the car) on the front windshield and said "you are fine, you have full insurance anyway". I would call it "taking the opportunity" and cheating on the insurance ! ! ! It was clearly happened before, just not claimed and marked on pick-up. That's how it works and that's why insurance costs near 20eur per day ! I could expect that from some local little rental company with 10 cars, but not from Sixt. Lame. "

" I would appreciate more clarity about the insurance. I would prefer that I insure the car with absolutely no hidden extras. I always prefer booking the Super Excess Waiver cover through AutoEurope however invariably each time i hire a car, the hirer seeds doubts in your head whether you are actually fully covered plus I hate the hidden extras, such as tyres not covered etc. More often than note you hire a car when on vacation, and peace of mind is importsnt. "

" Well this was my first time with Sixt and probably the last. I was requested to pay extra insurance cover when with autoeurope I had full cover. Sixt stated that should I have an accident and the car is not drivable without this insurance I will not be supplied with a replacement car and the car rental period will be terminated. Also the vehicle was short delivered on fuel, I queried this out and told me that the fuel gauge was faulty. I filled up the car on numerous times and this was not the case. An extra 10.01 fuel was in the fuel tank to return it full. "
