" I did rent a Premium SUV with winter tyres. This requirement was of high importance as I was going to my house located at some altitude in the alps. Counter staff brought the car and explicitly stated the model was chosen to fulfil my requirement of winter tyres. I drove to my place and park the car down to the carport. It was unable to climb the slope to the road because that car was equipped with normal tyres that has no grip by minus 8 degree. I had to call Sixt assistance countless time and it tooks 2 days to sort out the issue and get a replacement vehicule. Conclusion: - 2 days of holidays lost - SIXT put their client live at risk and provide vehicule that are legaly not authorized to drive on mountain area during winter And I rented a premium SUV and ended with a Peugeot 308. Experience wise, in competition for the worst service of the year. "

Really does smack of sharp practice - aware that overseas car rental can be a minefield - will certainly think twice before using sixt again. "

" I was pleased with the way Auto Europe made it easy for us to book our rental at what I thought was a fair price (for the vehicle I thought I was renting) and was reassured with the included insurance. I was very disappointed that Sixt did not have the car that the rental was to include and their so-called "upgrade" was to a lesser vehicle. I call that "bait and switch" which is a distasteful and perhaps illegal business practice. I was further disappointed that Sixt charged more than the voucher. I booked my rental six months in advance, meaning Auto Europe was fully paid and able to hold my money for six months, but the experience was less than satisfactory overall. "
" I was disappointed with the vehicle offered. I requested and paid for category XDAR (BMW 7 series or equal) but received a BMW X5. Sixt told me this was an "upgrade" since they did not have any XDAR vehicles. In fact they said there are no XDAR vehicles in Paris! Perhaps they rent SUV's like the X5 at a higher rate, but this in no way compares to a BMW 7-series, Mercedes S-class or Audi A8, which are comparable and listed XDAR alternatives. Even with all of this, the X5 wasn't ready when we arrived at the requested time and we waited an additional 1 hour for the vehicle to arrive and to complete paperwork. At the end of our rental, Sixt charged us 85 Euros more than the voucher from Auto Europe. This, despite no over-mileage charges nor any other extras. " Very friendly & extremely helpful customer service. I lost my wallet in Paris the night before we were supposed to pick up the rental to begin our road trip down to the south of France & back up through the Alps. I didn't have my drivers license or any form of payment plus I was 2 hours late to pick up the rental because we were trying to track down my wallet by going to every place we had been the night before. I couldn't get ahold of Sixt on the phone so I called the number on my Auto Europe reservation. The woman who helped me was so sympathetic & told me that although she didn't think the situation looked good because most agencies don't allow for last minute changes, that she was going to try to work directly with Sixt to explain the situation & see if they could help. It all ended up working out & the woman really helped to calm me down over the phone. Highly recommend. "

" This was the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. I was there with four kids age 2 to 10 and my wive and Sixt refused to give us our card even though I had a valid credit card with which I rented a car the with Hertz and we had offered all other forms of payment. It was 11 pm and we had to get to our holiday house with our four kids. The Sixt team was totally unhelpful, When my wife out of desperation started yelling at them they even called the police. It was just incredible. "

In the end I had to book a new car with Hertz where my credit card worked perfectly fine. I had to pay 1500 instead of 1000 Euro I had paid you already for the Sixt car. If I do not hear back from you by end of this week 7 September and you confirm that you have paid me back my money and the 500 Euro I had to pay more to get a ca I will take legal action.
