And also 0 excess fee is higher just because it can not be changed to 143€ cause I got upgrade to higher class of vehicle, and is again only system malfunction, which is their internal, again rest asured you will only be charged 143€,. None of this actually worked, cause on return they charged me for full amount, instead of 143€ as they promissed they charged me for 318€! great , not to mention they did not wanna talk about anything, just you signed and services were provided... What followed was an embarrassing debacle of expensive roaming phone calls, several cut conversations with multiple emergency help personal, conflicting messages, being promised to be called back immediately, not being called back at all, massive periods of being put on hold, having the car towed, being told to go to the local office for a new car, went, none were there, as I said, a complete shambles with the emergency services having to continually call europcar and having to wait for any, if any response. I spoke to at least 7 different people and while some tried, it was clear that the system is confused and incredibly inefficient for the hirer. In short, I had to pick the car up at a local garage 24 hours later, for a flat tire. I lost a day of important business and have not received any offer of compensation. Not a satisfied customer. "

" I am highly disappointed in the customer services of Europcar. If I may have your kind attention for a few minutes, I will summarize my experience to avoid similar cases happening in the future. Before I booked a car on your website, I had taken into consideration two important things. First, that I travelled with a 2.5 year old child and the fact that I don't speak the language of the country that I visited. Therefore I booked a car online in advance to make sure that the rental process can be smooth. I expected to have the service that I booked and what I paid for, but it didn't happened. Europcar's representative told that economy manual car was not available upon my arrival. He told that he can give me a Fiat punto in mini category. I told him that my reservation is for economy, citroen c3 or similar. He told me that he can give me an economy automatic car in upgrade. It was my only option to get a car. I was bona fide and believed that it was a mutual approach, so I accepted the upgrade. The car rental document is French, which I don't understand. I would like to emphasize that all important changes, especially changes in pricing should have been translated and communicated clearly to me, as a customer. Although I told to the representative several times that I don't want a higher insurance package, I want exactly the same package that is in my reservation, he overcharged me with 168 EUR for insurance. I also asked him couple of times about the total amount that I need to pay with the upgrade and I never get a clear response from him. He did not give me a clear answer about the total amount when I asked him about the details of the rental document that he asked me to sign. He told me that I don't need to pay, he requires only the deposit (500 EUR) to be booked on my card, which will be releived after I return back the car. When I dropped off the car I did not get a clear answer from them when I asked for the invoice and wanted to know the payable amount. I got contradictory responses from the representatives at the parking area and at the counter, which was unconvenient. The man in the parking area told that he closed the contract and everything is OK with the car. The lady told me that she can not give me the invoice because the contract was not closed and she sent me back to the parking zone for some paper from the car supervisor. I went back and asked the guy for the document, and he told me for the second time that the contract was closed, the car was OK and no paper needed. I told his confirmation to the lady at the counter desk, who asked me again to go back for a paper. I asked her if she could do anything for me and talk to his colleague and get the necessary documents for closure, because he told me that no document is needed for me. I was also had a limited time because I needed to catch my flight. The lady at the encounter told me that then we are OK and she will send me the invoice via email later, I don't need to pay. Then I received the invoice with payable amount of 315 EUR via email, which contains 105 EUR extra charges for the category ugrade and 168 EUR insurance costs. I don't see a reason in fair customer service to force a customer to pay extra 273 EUR, when the previously ordered services clearly contained my car and insurance preferences with a reasonable price of 149 EUR. If I wanted to have a higher service on a triple price, I would have booked that via online. As I checked price difference between manual-automatic category on Europcar's website, there's only 30 EUR difference in the weekly price, instead of 105, that they charged. Therefore I asked the customer service team to make a correction on upgrade pricing. I also asked them to cancel the unwanted insurance package with the charge of 168 EUR. Although I asked them for compensation, they sent me their general agreement and responded that the invoice was correct. After this car rental experience I feel betrayed as a customer. "

When I asked if they have what I booked and not upgrades only then they said "yes", went back, and got the other car key. For a rental of a mini Fiat for 12 days they said that there would be a deposit of 1000 euros even though the rental price was around 310 euros.
