I was then very dissatisfied when I was sent an email by Hertz to tell me they would charge about 150€ for a mere scratch on a wheel, which I'm pretty sure was not done by me. My initial inspection of the car was quickly done as it was pouring on the outdoors parking lot, so I did not notice anything. Anyway I consider this a rip-off: Hertz will probably never repair this, and they make this kind of traps to people leaving the car without seeing staff, and proceeding with a train trip just afterwards, so unlikely to come back face to face to discuss the issue. I will avoid Hertz in the future for sure. "

I showed them the screen shot proving it, but they said they didn't agree, and if I had an accident, I would have to take it up with you or my credit card company. (Given this is false advertising). I was forced to find a Fiat dealer who fortunately was very helpful and charged the car for me. Tha range of the Fiat 500 was appalling, I drove 111 km and the battery dropped from 100% charged to 11%! After the charge I drove another 67 km by the time I returned the car and the battery had dropped from 100% to 58%. The comfortable range of the car was only 100 km between full charges and a full charge from 10% takes 6 hours. I suggest that you warn clients that the real range of an electric car is only half of the manufacturer's claims and it is essential to ask what the TRUE SITUATION about charging stations is before hiring an electric car. " We paid for a car for 7 days. We missed picking it up late in the afternoon. When we arrived the next day to pick up they refused to give us a car that we paid for. They made us pay an extra $300 for 6 days instead of 7. When we picked up the car they told us we had a 90 minute grace period to drop off the car. We were well within the 90 minute grace period when we dropped the car and were charged a late fee drop off of $11.50 anyway. We called Auto Europe from Hertz before renting the new car from Hertz and we were told there is nothing that would be done about it. The agent refused to transfer us to a supervisor and said you lost your money. So we sent you an email to have you straighten it out with Hertz. Eight days later we haven't received a response from Auto Europe. So we contested the charges to both you and Hertz. Despite knowing we paid for the car for a week Hertz refused to give us a car and your company refused to do anything about it. We are not paying twice for the same car. Since you didn't have the time or inclination to resolve the problem we have notified our credit card company to cancel payments to both you and Hertz until this is resolved. "

My wife and I made this reservation for 7 days : from 1 June 2019 around 10 :00 hours from Bordeaux – Gare St. Jean to 7 June 2019 around 16:00 hours returned to Merignac airport – Bordeaux. We had made the reservation for an Economy car 4 doors and the confirmation wrote that it would be a Peugeot 208 or similar. The lady at HERTZ desk, whose name doesn't appear in the contract, gave us a car of a superior category and when I asked the mark and model of the car, she said it was a DACIA DUSTER. Initially I refused such a big bulky car but the lady answered us that she didn't have the type we had asked for, only a very small FIAT. So, we were forced to accept the DACIA DUSTER and afterwards we discovered that - it consumed much more fuel than what we had anticipated - Its volume made the driving very difficult in the cities - Very difficult to park it in the parking spaces, especially if there were other cars on the right and the left we couldn't open the doors - When driving on the national highways, beyond the speed of 100 km, the air blew so much the car that I had to correct the steering wheel all the time. I would like to remind you that in 2017 we had rented a Renault Twingo equipped with GPS and a rear view camera from EUROPCAR. " My guess is that a lot of the rentals in Geneva in winter time are to go skiing in the alps. Hertz provides their rental cars on summer tires (the law in France doesn't enforce winter tyres) and then tries to upsell winter tyres at a crazy price (they proposed 234 euros for 10 days, this is +60% on top of the rental price). It's a shame that Hertz wants to rip off their customers in exchange for a safe driving experience. Otherwise the car is in good condition (with some scratches of course) and the staff are quite friendly. This is not only Hertz by the way, in most French airports in close proximity to the Alps most rental car companies do the same thing. Not cool. "

As we were collecting the car at 07:00 on Sunday morning I was told to contact you without any luck as your office was closed. we were on a time crunch and could not wait until 09:30 for your office to open.
