" I've been using AutoEurope for over 30years (when it was Kemwell auto) and I've always had excellent experience. this time around there was confusion on June 9th when I contacted AutoEruope to ask if it was possible to arrive earlier at the EuropeCar to pick up vehicle. I was told I could arrive up to one hour before. I arrived at Europecar at AVN TGV at 17h15 and I asked how long I had to wait for the vehicle and they informed me for 18h30. I did not want to wait...so they suggested an upgrade to diesel car available immediately for an extra 17€ so I took it. I signed 3 copies of a EuropeCar contract which they held 650€ on my CC. I returned the car the next morning...(barely 12 hour usage). I did not receive my invoice until Wednesday and the unblocked amount on CC until yesterday. I called AutoEruope this morning because since I had already paid a deposit when I rented the car on 30 May, I wanted to ensure that I wasn't going to be double billed by AutoEurope and EuropeCar :-) I explained my situation to the CS agent and she provided me with the answer I needed to hear. I'm writing to you because It's important to always highlight the EXCELLENT customer care that one receives from your agents! I spoke to a girl with an Australian accent who was attentive, pleasant and calm and we had a very good laugh at the end of the conversation. I would like for you to extend the 10/10 for the excellent care I received from your staff. I phoned around 10h30 CEST from Switzerland. I work in HR and have recruited many staff and I know the importance of giving great feedback to inspire and motivate others. Well done AutoErurope! Have a wonderful day "

We asked to start the process as it takes time fill all the documents, etc. but the staff at Paris CDG airport mentioned a few times that if the rental was with them, the wouldn't be any problem to start the process earlier but now that the rental is with outside company - they cannot do anything. When we started filling up the documents, etc. it took the staff 45 minutes. So we were supposed to pick up the car at 6pm but in reality we picked up the car at 7pm. "

" I was pushed to take an upgrade, I was ok with it. When I started driving away from the airport I had problems with the apple carplay and the car was just constantly bumping out my phone which was very annoying when driving in a city I didn't know. After a few hours of driving the car broke down. It was some kind of engine fault, luckily it was an electric hybrid so I could use the electric engine to pull in to safety. This was at 16.00. We were parked outside a shop and then I began to call Europcar. It took 6 hours of constant phone calls to get them to come and collect the car and get me and my family to our destination in a taxi. The lack of care of the support team was incredible. I gave them all the information they required to solve the case right at the start but they didn't pay attention and didn't make the efforts they needed to resolve this. Multiple times they promised to call back and then didn't which meant I had to call myself and follow up. More than once I was hung up on despite always speaking in a respectful tone of voice. The support team had very few people working who were comfortable speaking in English. I myself gave all the solutions as the support team didn't know what to do. For example we were about 45mins in a car from Lyon but the team were saying the small town we were broken down in didn't have an open Europcar venue. Lyon had ones open until 21.00 or even 22.00 but these suggestions came from me rather than the team. The team were so slow in getting the issue resolved that by the time they had everywhere was shut down. This ended up costing Europcar a lot more as they then had to spend 300 euros on a taxi to take me to my airbnb. The next day again they had to send another taxi to take me to Lyon airport to pick up a new car. For me two days of my vacation were entirely ruined by wasting time dealing with Europcar's support team who made every situation worse and cost me and the company a lot of time and money. I'm deeply disappointed in Europcar and will never use the service again, I'd happily pay more to some other company to avoid ever having to use the service again. "

We stayed no more than 2-3 minutes at the counter, and then maximum 5min at the garage until the car was given to us. And also at checkout in the end everything went fast and smooth. " Dear Sir, My recent car hire from Nice airport was not a satisfactory experience. On arrival to pick up my car, I registered with the ticket machine and was given the number RO69, the customer currently being served was RO21. Forty-eight customers ahead of me and not to mention the Priority customers that jump the queue ! I am of course fully aware of the number of customers at this time of year, and you did have five desks operational, and at least a good system to control the flow, unlike the other desks that just had one long queue. There was nowhere to sit down, and not much floor space either, this of course is not your problem. When my time came, I was simply asked whether I would like an automatic, nothing about an upgrade, nothing about extra cost. I accepted the offer of an automatic, assuming you must have been running out of cars, and not everyone is happy with this type of transmission. The agent pointed out the total cost of €140, which was approximately what I remembered was the cost of the total hire, and I was certainly not aware it was an additional cost. It was not until I returned the car when the agent told me I was 1 hour late returning the car that I told him in no uncertain terms that I had waited over two hours to pick-up the car. At this point I looked at the invoice trying to find the check out time when I saw the extra charge. I again re-iterate that I was never informed I was being charged for an upgrade I never wanted, as one person the car was too big. Another very alarming feature of this car was the lane keeping option which is switched on as standard. As I was driving on the motorway round Nice, several times the car swerved in the most worrying fashion, I had thought to return the car but the thought of queuing again was unbearable. It wasn't until much later I noticed the lane sign and was able to switch it off. I think you agents should make customers aware of this feature and let them know how to turn it off. " When we dropped the car off we had to have a full tank of petrol. When we picked it up, the Europcar representative told us where the nearest petrol stations were. However, on the day of returning the car there were road works and hence the usual route into Avignon train station was blocked. So we looked for the petrol stations but they were only self-serve stations with no one in attendance. You had to pay for the petrol at the pump with a credit card. We tried at least four card and all were refused. We also went to three petrol stations and our cards were refused at each. This took a long time and we had to get to the train station to catch the train. Hence, we returned the car with about a half a tank of petrol. Please find under the complainment email that I sent to Europrcar as well: I would like to file a compliment on your customer service at the Charles de Gaulle airport. I booked the car via Auto Europe agency and received Voucher number EU15147977 which was pending to Europcar confirmation. Few hours later I received Confirmed reservation number 1089557592 car type Mercedes C Class. After that I got possibility to create my Europe CAR ID to access Quick Pick up service which I did as well. On September 25th I received another email from Auto Europe which was confirming my Voucher #15147977. However, I arrived at the Europcar stand around 10 a.m. and I was waiting 45 minutes to access to the pick-up stand. I was received by employee Nathalie who told me that my reservation is canceled and I need to call Auto Europe. I showed her all my confirmation emails but she was insisting that I will move and give space to another client and to solve it with Auto Europe by myself. I called Auto Europe and after short conversation with the agent he told me that my reservation was still valid and asked me to connect him to Europcar employee. I asked Nathalie if she could take the call and she said yes. She took the phone and after few seconds she told him to wait a minute where I thought that she is checking something connected to my reservation. After five minutes I realize that she is servicing another client and I kindly asked her to finish the call since I am in roaming call with UK. At that moment she was very unpolite raising her voice and telling me that she needs a moment. After she took the phone and finished the call, she told me that everything is ok and when she will finish with the current client she will take my case. When she received me, she asked for all or the documents and it took her about 15 minutes to fill all the forms even that I told her that I did my Quick Pick up online... She told me that the car I booked in not available and the only car she can offer is Alfa Romeo Gullia. After all the hassle I accepted that car but honestly it was very bad experience. Nevertheless, I booked two child seats and she told me that I should pick it up at the stand outside, when we came there they did not have seats and we were waiting for 25 minutes more. All in all, me and my family with two small kids 2 and 3 years old, were waiting more than 90 minutes to get the car we did not want, is this the expected level of your service?
