" The small office at Toulouse was very crowded and hot 43 degrees. There was no aircon and the single staff member was trying to deal with tired hot customers and issue cars he didn't have. Some customers had waited over two hours! The single staff member left and was replaced by two people. Several customers including myself hired automatics that were not available and were told maybe another hour or two wait. I fortunately can drive a manual so took what was offered. The car was dirty and I was not shown to the vehicle or told basic features. The aircon did not work and I arrived at my destination with heat stroke and spent the next two days ill. The poor staff did their very best but with the heat and lack of cars it was a very negative experience. At least Aircon the office. "

" The Avis/Budget staff were very good. They gave me a new vehicle with 17km on the counter. It was a hybrid MG. However, there seems to be a design problem when the hybrid battery is empty for some reason the small battery for the normal engine is under stress and the car stalls with an empty battery. The car stalled at a light at 1am and I had to call a tow truck. The staff gave me another MG hybrid with 37,000km that drove well but again when the hybrid battery was empty the car would not even open ... Luckily we were with friends and were able to jump start the car, giving us access to the hybrid battery charger, charged the hybrid battery and drove around to recharge the 12V engine battery. It seems to be a design flaw between then Hybrid battery and the normal 12V vehicle battery. I am pretty sure AVIS/Budget are as upset with this as the customers. It is either a design flow with the MG Hybrid or a bad setting that needs to be changed quickly. "

" Autoeurope failed to inform me that terminal 1 at Charles De Gaulle Airport was closed, accepted a rental from that terminal. When I noticed and asked if I can change the terminal, to terminal 2A, autoeurope presented me with the penalties not with the solution. Autoeurope as a third party has zero communication with the rental agency, making misunderstandings very common. The insurance policy of autoeurope was far from being easy to understand, especially that what is written in the terms and conditions is different from what I was confirming with the operators through emails. Operators have no idea what the terms and conditions are, and when I had a few questions, they were stubborn a certain answer and failed to understand their own terms. "

We asked for after-hours dropoff but were not told how confusing it would be to enter the parking lot after-hours. It took us about an hour of driving around the train station to get back in. That's not so much a problem, it just would have been nice to be given instructions in advance. When I got the "drop-off" email the next day at 7am, they had charged us 170 euros for a scratch to the car that wasn't there when we dropped the car off at 1am. We actually had planned to photograph the exterior of the car at dropoff but we were so tired after driving 12 hours that day and another hour to drop off the car that we didn't. Oh well, Lesson learned. I'm sure they did this because we had bought the highest level of insurance and because we did late-night dropoff. " AutoEurope It seems that AutoEurope didn't send the right phone number and email address to the car rental company. The phone was checked at pick-up time, but not the email. Budget I'll not recommend at least the Paris Airport CDG office. It's not the first time that they tried to overcharge. by Avis/Budget I have been added once extra insurance from Paris Airport ORY office for windows. Not a big amount, but easy enough to overlook when signing the contract. "
" We had a late pickup time, around 11 pm. 4 persons were present at the counter desk, but only one was initially serving people. That gave a feeling that they didn't pay attention to customers. The car we got was a low end car (Dacia Sandero). After check-in process, we came to our car. After a check, I noticed that the benzine level war about 7/8, while I have been told that the tank was full. This was corrected after returning to the office. I have told to bring back the car at 7/8 or with full tank against a refund. I have also been told I should receive the contract within 15 minutes. However, I did never receive the contract probably due a wrong email address. Email wasn't asked at pick-up time. The phone number they had was a +49, which may correspond to the one of AutoEurope. I tried to contact them by phone, but I haven't been able to get anyone. So I finally gave up. When we returned the car, they told me I need to pay 60+ euros for the extra insurances I took on pick-up. However, I clearly specified that I didn't want any at pickup time, since I have my own private insurance for that purpose. This was corrected after. I delivered the car with full tank and should get a refund of about 10 to 11 euros. Those I'm still waiting for... "

" You should revaluate your business with Budget. We booked a car through you 3 months in advance, pick up Bordeaux Airport. Upon arrival there was no car for us, and no Budget reps present. Confirmed "reservation" was handled by Avis. Had to wait for 2 hours till we finally got a car, from Avis. Very dissatisfied. Budget is a rip off. "

No Budget staff present; reservation was handled by Avis. One of the reps even mentioned that it's like airline tickets: plane can be overbooked, so you are unlucky! Further suggestion was to refund us, and we could go to the neigbours to try our luck and solve the problem. Alternatively it was suggested to just hang around and wait till a car came in. Fortunately Avis rep (Laure) was very persistent in calling with manager, garage, downtown location etc. After 2 hours waiting at the counter we finally got a car. Budget: never again, a total disgrace! "

Я ответил однозначно - нет! поскольку у меня была страховка WWI. Несмотря на это, дополнительная страховка на сумму 626 евро была включена в контракт. Причем я не был предупрежден о включении дополнительной платной услуги. Далее я проявил легкомыслие, поставив электронную подпись под контрактом, не прочитав его тщательно. Я просил распечатать мне контракт, что мне было отказано, на том основании, что я получу его по e-mail. Когда получив e-mail, я вернулся и попросил у менеджера убрать пункт, который мне совершенно не нужен, мне было отказано. Вместо этого, мне предложили дисконт, на что мне пришлось согласиться, поскольку выбора не было. В результате мне пришлось заплатить не 626, а 316 евро за страховку, которая мне не нужна. Второй неприятный эпизод произошел, когда мне понадобилась поддержка на дороге. Я звонил в поддержку около 7-ми вечера. Первые полтора часа отвечал автоответчик. В 8-30 ответил оператор, и спросил адрес, где стоит машина. Я сказал, что мы стоим на парковке, предложил GPS координаты, а дома поблизости нет. Он сказал, что передаст мой телефон в службу поддержки, которая приедет через 40 мин. Когда через час я перезвонил, мне сказали, что поддержка нас не нашла, так как у нас не французский номер! У меня снова спросили адрес. Я пошел к ближайшему дому, который находился в 500 метрах, снова позвонил в поддержку и назвал адрес. Через десять минут приехала помощь, которую в общей сложности мы ждали 4 часа. Учитывая, что прежде чем отвечает оператор, около дести минут приходиться слушать автоответчик, на звонки мы потратили более 10 евро. Возврат машины произошел быстро и без проблем. "

" We booked a Volvo V40 auto with gps (or simular). We got a Toyota Auris. No big issue so far. After waiting 45 min in the line to the counter the girl working sold us an super damage vaiver +120€ and after that told us where to find the car and that it had no damages. When we found the car it had damages everywhere (all four corners, the bumpers, the hood, the back of the car and on the sides), the windscreen wiper on the back window was completly missing and bits of the interior was loose. I contacted one of the persons working in the parking space and asked him about this. He was quite rude and told me to get pictures of the car and that the reason that we got such a crappy car was because we hade not booked it directly with Budget. We where on a holliday and I was not prepared to stand in the line for another hour or so we took pictures (a lot) and settled for the car that we where given. When we returned the car we needed to show the pictures and explain that we did not cause the damage to the car. We got an ok after that but felt like they tricked us to get the SDW so they could give us the faulty car. I we did not buy the extra protection we would not have accepted the car that we got. We have used Auto Europe many times but this was by far the worst experiance we had with any rental company. "

In Finland they do not answer in the phone and when I callade Auto Europe in Germany they just moved the call on and on and at the end I just got music on phone. The person who answered said he should check up and after that music again for an hour !!! It seems to be difficukt to get an answer of Auto Europe, I hope this will get solved quickly so I do not have to involve a third part in this case. "

" I travelled in France between Oct. 1 – Oct. 8 together with my children and a husband. Before my arrival to France I booked a car rental with Budget thru AutoEurope online few weeks in advance. During my renting period I had been cursed to be introduced twice to unprofessional and rude service I have ever experienced in my life! Picking up the vehicle at Budget/Avis at the Beauvais airport desk (Oct. 1st, 16:30) I was served by a nice young lady, who did a lot of mistakes. Apparently the agent represents both Rental companies Budget and Avis. First, I wasn't asked to present my booking number or the copy of my reservation, I was told that my name would be enough. Which is fine if there wouldn't be a number of different inaccuracies and errors. At first I was charged a deposit (the amount was blocked at the time of pick up) of 800 Eur + 100 Eur, which was in accordance to the renting offer. However, later without my confirmation and any code I was charged two additional amounts of 250,92 Еur. Obviously, if I was asked to put my code as I was charged, I would definitely notice that I was being charged some other amount. However, without my concern these amounts were charged. Only after the manager presented the agreement for totally different amount did I realize that I had been charged again (double) for the car I paid for already few weeks back. That created a lot of waiting and misunderstanding before I could receive my rented vehicle (around 2 h.). Apparently that was just the beginning of the bad experience with Avis/Budget Beauvais airport desk. At the drop of, returning the vehicle (Oct. 8th at 13.30), we had a much worse situation. After we've waited for 10 min. at the closed gate we finally saw a manager coming to the desk and opening the office. The manager seemed extremely angry and irritated from the very first moment we came to the desk. As we asked the question about when the car can be inspected, we were told that we could leave the car without inspection and continue to the airport "as many customers do...", otherwise we have to wait 20-30 min, because the manager was extremely busy. Be noted, that there were no other customers in line except us and our friends. We continued asking questions in regard to our deposit and how it works, and that we need to get an invoice about the return of the deposit, however, the manager's anger seemed to be just boiling up. As we said that we had a plane to catch and we don't have so much time to wait, we were told that "...there were many cars that were dropped off in the morning, which up until that moment were not inspected yet", so we must wait, otherwise we "...can go and catch the plane". We've travelled around the world and our experience with rented vehicles is to check car's conditions at drop offs. However, as the manner and the attitude was without doubt very rude and mean we asked directly why the guy is raising his voice at us. Thus, I requested to tell me the name of the manager, also I mentioned I needed the name for a complain about the service and rude disrespected attitude for ordinary requests. However, I was told I was not going to be provided any name whatsoever and that this is not my business at all and I was asked (in a very rude form with loud voice) to leave the office. I wanted to just properly return the vehicle as of the Terms and Conditions of the Voucher that states that "the blocked amount will be returned in full at the end of the rental provided the vehicle is returned in the same conditions as rented") and before my departure. I really didn't understand why I was asked to leave the office otherwise the manager would call the police. I said I had no problem with the local police as I didn't do nothing illegal. It seemed that the manager got even more upset with me and started threatening me by saying that "...he has a friend in the airport's police and he would make sure that I run into problems and won't fly out". Note, that this message was delivered by swearing and literally screaming at me, my family and our friends. Me and my family were shocked by the attitude and the service as well. From that moment we said to ourselves that we could not leave the office before the vehicle is inspected with our participation us as we literally were afraid the manager would purposely damage the car and our deposit of 900 Eur would be used towards covering this damage. Although there were only us and another family in line (which is our friends who witnessed "the show" and got the same service as ours), but our cars were not inspected first. Apparently the manager had to show us that "our vehicle" is still in line for inspection but taking his time to inspect other vehicles first. Luckily we were "honored" by the guy and he finally inspected our car, I was provided a receipt of the deposit return. That's all I wanted to be sure of, that everything is okay and my deposit would be returned. Instead of 10 min. drop off, it took us 1 h., and we were late for boarding. I don't believe any customer would appreciate this kind of service. I'm not the one say how to run the business, we all can have bad days, but controlling your emotions and still remaining good-mannered regardless of anything is important. If that same information was presented in a totally different form this whole bad experience would not have happened. Respect, good-manner, problem solving attitude (not problem creating), self-control is something that can help in relationship with customers. Nevertheless, my complain includes the following: - Rude attitude (proof by video record can be presented) - Unprofessional service (by charging the card extra amounts) - The deposit to my card was actually returned only 4 days after (on the 11th of October instead of the same day of the return of the car (as of the Terms and Conditions of the reservation) - Violation of the agreement to timely accept and inspect the vehicle. "

" We ordered Automatic car with GPS - we accepted Manual drive car without GPS. The car was with several scratches, the technician was not available, we were waiting for 30 minutes, until we just left the place without closing the issue. Every budget employee we asked for help answered "it's not my job - look for technician". Poor service!!! "

" I paid Auto Europe $315.68 on Aug. 25 to rent a car from Sept. 2 to Sept. 19. Understand that this vehicle was reserved for ME, I had rights to it during that time. If, for instance, I would not have shown up to get the car, I would still have to pay the $315.68 because that was our deal. In reality, I was a day late in picking up the car, and Budget charged me $291.27 on Sept. 19! Totally unacceptable! It should not matter at all when I got the car! I rented it for a specific days...it was assigned to me! If I wouldn't have picked it up at all, I wouldn't have been charged a penalty! So why was I almost charged double when I was just one day late? The young man at the Budget counter told me it was very unusual to be charged such a large amount, but there was nothing he could do about it. It was difficult to communicate with him since I don't speak French. I will fight this last payment with my credit card company. "

They were apologetic and credited the difference at the time of drop off, but it was very inconvenient. If they know that Sunday mornings are busy, which I was told, then they should staff extra for that time period, especially at such a busy location. "

" Please Forward this complaint to the teamleader of AVIS-BUDGET at Nice Airport: I have never experienced such a ignorance of the customer like at this Counter. Although there were only 5 People in front of me in the Queue, I had to wait for almost 2 hours (4:00 pm - 6:00) to get to the Counter. It was incredible slow and the staff at the 4 Counters ha been reduced until my waiting time from 4 to 2. Although People have been waiting for more than an hour, the staff closed the Counter with an attitude of complete indifference. Their working day was over and they had no understanding for the disbelief of the waiting customers. You could observe the whole staff working at all Counters and the working attitude was really very relaxed and slow: they didn't hurry up at all, even when moving to the Printer and back. As if the customers were not there. The female teamleader had an express Counter, but was not always there and didn't Support the Team enough. There was no Information given to the customers about the expected waiting time, no excuse, nothing. When I was at the Counter, I had to encourage the teamleader to communicate to the customer and she answered, that this could be a good idea (yeah!). There is a double Counter AVIS and BUDGET at Nice, but the customer has difficulties to see, which Queue is for what. A mere printed sign can be easily overseen. The car itself has not well enough been cleaned up in the interior: We found rests of candle wax at the dashbord. We hope, that someone reads that and excuses this behaviour and offers us something for compensation. Otherwhise I will not again book AVIS-BUDGET. Thank you, Kind regards Holger Hainke "

" I booked a Passad or similar sized vehicle, but the only vehicle I was offered once I arrived was a Mercedes that, although a good vehicle in general, is much smaller than a Passad. The seats in the back were much more cramped, both in regards to leg space and head space. In fact, an adult male passenger in the back could not keep his head straight up as he drove, making the journey in your car utterly miserable to him. It is, frankly, an absolute travesty to sell me a Passad or equivalent and then give me a car that should be at least one size category lower in your selection. This is nothing less than a scam, like ordering a 300 gram steak off a menu and getting 100 grams of meat and 200 grams of uneatable sinew and fat. I will not be booking a car with Budget again, nor will I recommend the company to friends or family. "

I had a reservation about the gps and stuff but the man at the desk started selling a gps and additional equipment for additional price even if it was already included in the rental prise.
