" I refer to the above reservation and wish to formally raise the following concerns: 1. Vehicle Condition at Pick-Up Upon collection at London St Pancras Rail Station International Car Park, I found the vehicle to be in an unclean condition, both internally and externally. When I queried this with your representative, I was informed that the car park regulations prohibit vehicle washing on-site, and that this was the reason for the lack of cleanliness. 2. Return Procedure Issues at Bristol Airport The Auto Europe voucher I had printed contained clear instructions for returning the vehicle. At the time of pick-up, I was not informed of any amendments to these instructions. On the day of return, due to ongoing roadworks around Bristol Airport, I was unable to follow the directions provided, as they led to the short-term car park where a parking fee applies. My wife and I made repeated attempts to contact the telephone numbers stated on the voucher (Pick-up: +44 1275 428000, Drop-off: +44 1275 474400) in order to obtain clarification on the correct drop-off procedure; however, our calls went unanswered. Consequently, despite arriving at Bristol Airport well in advance of the agreed return time of 10:00 a.m., we were only able to complete the handover of the vehicle after 11:00 a.m. This delay resulted in an additional charge of £9 for short-term parking and caused considerable stress and anxiety regarding the possibility of missing our flight. 3. Damage Assessment at Drop-Off During the inspection at drop-off, your representative pointed out minor scratches on the left-side alloy wheels, as well as some damage to the left front tyre, where the rubber had come off in two locations. As the pick-up took place in an underground car park with limited lighting, I did not notice the above damage at the time, nor did I specifically check the condition of the tyres. In my view, the tyre damage appeared old and was certainly not caused during my rental period. 4.Deposit Charge Without Explanation A few days after I returned the vehicle, I was surprised to discover that the full amount of the deposit had been charged to my account, without any prior notification or explanation as to the reason for this action. This lack of communication is unacceptable and contrary to reasonable standards of customer service "

" My only "complaint" would be the size of the vehicle as I chose "Economy" (NOT "Mini"!!) and was given a Fiat 500 - the smallest car on the market and smaller than an actual Mini. The lady at the counter in Edinburgh agreed it was a "mini car" but advised that it DID come under the "Economy" grade. I appreciate that when you say "Vauxhall Corsa or equivalent" you are not guaranteeing a Vauxhall Corsa - but it's vastly larger than the Fiat 500 - perhaps this could be reviewed. "

I know Edinburgh Airport, so knew exactly where to go to pick up ("Proceed to Enterprise") isn't very helpful but even with a GPS, Manchester Drop Off was a nightmare to find. If it was written "Proceed to Terminal 3" - where the "Car Rental Returns" signs start - it would have saved us 20 minutes of time wasted driving round various car parks, trying to find the Drop Off zone!! Just say "Terminal 3 and follow the signs" - that's all you had to do!! "

" When I booked the car (december 2024) it was written in the reservation conditions as bonus that the first additional driver is free of charge. Unfortunately on the voucher was stated that the first additional driver is free of charges just some time in 2023. So, when I went to Alamo on May 17, 2025 it became evident that the first additional driver is not free of charge at all. For us it meant that just 1 person had to drive during the visit to England. It seems to me that we did not receive the service we booked. "

" Because of the significant additional charge at the point of pick-up, I feel let down by Autoeurope, which used to trade as All Inclusive Car Hire, in that this rental was very far from all inclusive. An additional charge of £200 on a rental that Autoerurope sold at c. €350 is very significant. If the insurance cover in the original rental was deficient, as Alamo insisted, Autoeurope should have flagged this at the outset. This is sharp practice by either Alamo or Autoeurope; which is it? "

After a long conversation, the staff offered me a car of a lower class than the one I ordered and paid for, which was too small for my family. An employee of the Alamo offered me a large car for an additional £100. I decided to do it because it was late, we needed a big car and I was too tired to have long discussions. Overall, the experience was unpleasant and I will give up renting cars from ALAMO for the future. "

Sent a message to Auto Europe and got a reply stating that both north and south terminals were available. Why not have displayed a sign saying go to South Terminal? Wasted valuable time on this. Only redeeming factor was the guy on the desk in South Terminal and both Tinashe and one other who issued and received the vehicle from/to me. Both were very pleasant guys. "

There was a minor problem with a wheel pressure sensor - it came on, so we checked the pressure, but they weren't underinflated and we couldn't get the sensor to reinitialise. We realised it was a sensor problem so told the staff when we dropped the car back - minor issue for us in the end fortunately. "

My wife telephoned them at least six times on Thursday 30 Jan as when we returned to Spain. She was either disconnected or hung up on all except once when she simply got told no ornament. Either they couldn't be bothered to look or somebody is lying. The ornament has very little monetary value wbut it has definitely either been discarded or stolen. This ornement had a poem about my mother printed on the two open pages - very sentimental to me. THERE IS NO DOUBT THE ORNAMENT WAS LEFT IN THE CAR. Shame I can no loner trust the ALAMO Staff. "

The only slight hiccup was that the new member of staff had some difficulty in working out which car we were supposed to take, and we ended walking up and down the car park as she decided, and it then took her 10 minutes to prepare the car for us (it could have been ready in advance as the exact pickup time was known and we were actually 30 minutes late, and we had booked weeks in advance). The drop-off was fantastic, drive up to a drop-off bay, someone waiting there to greet us, shook our hands, asked us if we had a good time, and dealt with everything super efficiently. He was incredibly polite and friendly and treated us like we were VIP customers. Everything was done within a few minutes and we hopped straight onto one of the waiting buses. Best service I have ever had, and I have rented LOTS of cars in my time. "

Separate note: The sliding doors on that vehicle are annoying and dangerous. My card is in Euro so I lost about 18 Euro in currency transfer fees for the transfer out of my account and back in again. "
