" Pick up and drop off from very shabby office at a holiday inn location at heathrow. Hotel currently used for asylum seekers. I got sent to the back of the hotel to pick up car , no lighting and very unnerving being alone there walking round a dark alleyway. Staff not interested in helping. Car was lit up from afar using the fob so I could see its location and I was told to take lots of photos which was impossible because of the dark and the drizzle . No one showed me the car , I had to beep for attention. Staff barely spoke and didn't even crack a smile. Exit not clear as it was so dark. On drop off same again , had to walk the dark alleyway in the drizzle with suitcase and belongings and then the shuttle bus didn't come for 50 minutes so I waited outside this hotel in the cold and drizzle . I asked the lady at the front 'office' if I could wait inside. She said no I'm closing ! I've rented before from green motion and they've always had their own little marked van for regular shuttles , this time it was non existent . I won't rent again from them . "

" I was very pleased with the booking process and the counter help once we arrived at our destination. The price was very fair and the agent (Green Motion) was very accommodating to make us comfortable about our car choice and the GPS. However, Auto Europe was not very accommodating when we adivsed we were delayed 24 hours -- they could not provide a simple "thank you; your reservation remains and we will advise the vendor you will arrive later than expected" but instead told us they could not speak on behalf of the vendor and did not provide an easy way to contact them. In the end it worked out but we were stressed not knowing this after a bad travel situation en route "

On departure I took an Uber to make sure I did not miss the plane. At the pick up I was advised to take detailed pictures of the car because not all the scratches are included in the file and they cannot change it at that moment, only after the drop off I have to justify myself with pictures. Last but not the least. deposit 1500 GBP for more than 20 days seems to me to be much to much!!!! "

" When my wife and I went to collect the car I was asked for my driving licence and gave the clerk my Cyprus Driving Licence as well as my UK driving licence. He chose the UK licence and said I had to pay 15 pounds for a phone call to confirm my licence is valid. At that point I said no and suggested they use my Cypriot licence. They refused and said if I was stopped the police would not be able to award penalty points on my Cyprus licence. I was extremely annoyed and even more so when nobody could show me where in your terms and conditions it said this. Anyway in the end I agreed and the manager there handled the situation reasonably well. However he got me to pay 53 pounds for the petrol (which was less than a full tank) and said I could bring back the car empty. Aren't you supposed to give the customer the car and he should bring it back with the same level of petrol? When I brought back the car your member of staff Saleh took me to the car to check it. He found a "scratch" which was not a scratch on the rear end of the car. I wiped it off with my handkerchief and he finally agreed it was no scratch. He also said if I had brought back the car "clean" this would not have happened. I asked him where it said in your terms that I had to bring it back clean and he had no answer. He did say I was a "stinking" person and he no longer wanted to listen to my "stinking" answers. I could not believe that! He also threatened to ban me from all car hire companies in future. For what? I never used inappropriate or rude language at any point. I think Saleh needs to conduct himself in a reasonable manner. His behaviour was a disgrace. I brought the car back with just under a half tank of petrol and when I asked him about that he said "that's not my job, I don't know". I therefore went back to your office to complain about him. I asked to speak to the manager and someone called Emon said he was the manager. I asked him for the address of your head office. He did not know it and suggested I look for it online. Once again this was unprofessional and unacceptable. Don't your staff know the address of your head office? The scratch to the door mirror did not happen during my 11 day rental period. I did however note many defects to the car bodywork before it was handed over to me. Poor service, poor condition of car. I think it is worth AutoEurope advising customers about the fact that some rental companies provide a lower credit card block if you rent through AUtoEurope. I have had this twice already and it did make me want to use them again for this reason. "

" I found that the insurance was misleading and the staff gave unclear and "stupid" explanations e.g. if the car breaks down I am responsible for the costs (I understand that if I did something wrong I would but in their explanation I need to pay. When challenging this point with him he didn't know. Return of the deposit because I had to use a debit card was up to 21 days. The reason I was given was because it is the banks, again this didn't make sense and his knowledge was limited or didn't have any. Insurance cover was misleading and all they wanted was for me to take full cover which I didn't want or agree to out of principle. My feeling was that they wanted to find something wrong with the car when I returned it and I allowed an extra hour when returning so I had time and not have to rush off because of my flight time. Also, when returning the car they went over it with detail that confirmed that there appears to be a policy or bonus system if they can keep deposits paid. I was told that the fuel wasn't high enough but it was ok and the woman checking the car couldn't read the fuel gauge. The insurance terms was very misleading and I also felt was incorrect. The person in their office was saying that I had paid additional insurance with yourselves for cover. When there I was told that if I had an accident I would have my deposit of £1,205 taken and in addition I would be be liable for wheels, tyres and windscreen so my final bill could be in the region of £2,000 In summary, I was in their office trying to get the car for at least 20 minutes. Explanations given didn't make sense and in some areas I would consider illegal. I would not recommend or use Green Motion again as I feel they are really after any reason to take deposits. It would be interesting to know what the statistics are for car hire and how many have their deposits withheld. In summary, I didn't feel they were trustworthy or experienced when it comes to the terms of contract and banking issues. If I had to leave the car at the depot and put the keys through a letter box (as I have done with other rental companies) I feel that I would be fighting to get my deposit back!! "
