" Our rental with Enterprise at Gatwick Airport was excellent. We got a free upgrade of the car, so it was more spacious and efficient. The only point when we went into trouble was when we returned the car. Apparently if you select Enterprise rent a car Gatwick in google maps the pin is at some office, that you cannot reach. So we ended up driving around the airport for 15 minutes without managing to get to the return area. Eventually, we searched in google for other car rentals which were in the same place as Enterprise and so we managed to reach the return area. Other than that, everything was excellent. Enterprise should update the address for their car return area. "

" Booked to pick up at London Waterloo Station and return at Heathrow. I rated it badly because I had a horrible experience with the pickup at Waterloo, but if you're renting directly at Heathrow I think it might not be as bad, my drop-off experience was good. At Waterloo, I went early thinking the car might be ready for us already. But the staff said we gotta wait till the formal pickup time, they had no cars and were waiting for cars to be returned. They assured us that come 1pm, our pickup time, the car would definitely be available. When we came back at 1:30pm, there were at least 10 different customer groups waiting to pick up their car. Turns out, they were overbooked and their internal process was so disorganised that they didn't ensure there were sufficient cars to fulfil the bookings. They blamed it on returns that were late or customers simply not turning up to return, but the fact was even if those materialised on time, they were still way overbooked and didn't ensure there were sufficient cars. Many customers were very upset, some like us had to drive off immediately to another location and couldn't afford to be delayed (we were attending a wedding in the cotswolds). The staff mostly sat around looking helpless, they said they were waiting for HQ updates to see if they could get cars from other branches or even outside London. But they didn't seem hopeful, so we tried to book with another company. But given it was a Saturday, very few offices were open; where we found one, it was ridiculously expensive. Finally, after most customers had stomped off, the remaining few of us got our cars, more than 2 hrs after my pickup time. It was a very stressful experience and I would definitely not recommend Enterprise given how poor their operations are. "

" Takeover and handover of vehicles were prompt. Short note on customer service: I forgot to bring my driving license (which was a fault on my end). Checked online that most of the rental companies in United Kingdom offers an online check/clearance with the incumbent's country authorities. But the attending staff offered a flat rejection, which wasn't very helpful. My trip would had been stuffed up, had it not been another driver friend who brought her licence. Perhaps a suggestion to start considering offering online clearance check for such situations? Hope this helps. :) "

However their pitch to sell additional insurance was aggressive and the terms offered are probably illegal. For example, I was told that I would be charged £ 1000 for any damage to the body of the car, regardless of the cost of repairing any actual damage incurred if I didn't take out "worry-free" insurance at about £20 per day - more than I paid for the one day rental. I refused and would have taken legal action instead. Happily, the issue did not arise.
