" All good-booked on the day of pick up-very good last minute rate for two week rental. "
" Good overall rental-good clean vehicle for a very good rate, booked at the last minute. Easy drop off. A couple of issues with the pickup-was told the car wouldn't be available for two hours, but they were mixing up my reservation with a different client. Also, it would have been good to be told if the toll reader was active, and whether the vehicle was petrol or diesel. Otherwise a good experience. "

" Condition of car was not well checked by staff/technicians. During hire of car, car system notified several times loss of air pressure and required air pump at gas station. Spare tyre was a different type. Airco was not working. "

" AE has a very user-friendly interface with really competitive pricing. It gives you the opportunity to check the prices from all rental companies. The service helps in making a really informed decision when it comes to picking a rental car. highly recommend. "
" Couter staff at pick up seemed to be upset that the rate quoted by Auto Europe was much lower than the advertised price. they tried to upsell the insurance coverage to us and quoted 230 euros for one day of coverage. we had explained that we just did a similar rental (from Lisbon) and the insurance coverage was only 37 euros. and the actual cost of the rental was 205 euros per day so the insurance quote of 230 euros was outrageous. the counter agent insisted on that rate for the insurance, and when we refused the coverage, they added a deposit of over 2000 euros for a one-day rental. we were extremely frustrated, knowing that if we had taken the full coverage with auto Europe, the rate for the insurance would have been around 20 euros. Once we returned the Vehicule to Lisbon, I inquired about the insurance rate that should have been quoted, and they confirmed a rate less than 40 euros for complete coverage. The Lisbon staff were very helpful and drop-off was a breeze. "

" Other than double debit to different cards which means I am over charged Euro900.00 to date, I was very happy with Thrifty and will use again if I can get around the twice charged amounts to my bank debit cards. "
" Great service except for when I booked the car 2 weeks before travelling my debit card was charged approx. Euro 900 for the trip- no problem. On collecting the car I upgraded for a full cost of Euro1500.00 for 11 days all good. ON drop off my debit card Mauritius Euro was charged the full amount Euro1500 +- again in addition to original Euro900.00+- charge . This is unfair and now I have to proceed to my bank in Harare, to try obtain a credit from Auto Europe. This is difficult as the card is a prepaid USD card managed from USA, as Zimbabwe cannot issue USD credit or debit cards due to sanctions, Sadly this has hurt my experience after updating at collection that its not a simple reverse charge to me and now I sit Euro900.00 out of pocket unsure when I MAY arrange a reversal of my first euro debit to auto-Europe my USD prepaid debit card. "

" Got smaller car than the one I rented. Booked Economy class "Reno Clio or similar", but they tried to give me Mini class Fiat 500 and when I rejected they gave me Citroen C1. Both cars are of a lower class compared to the one I booked and are smaller. Didn't have enough time to complain or replace it at the moment of getting the car. "

" By Thrifty the did not know the combination of the insurance AUTO EUROPE. The zero risk insurance was Impossible bij the desk assistend of Thrifty. The desk assistend informed me loud and clear that is was impossible to make a booking by email incl a zero risk insurance And it was NOT true cross the Spanish border for free. I had paid € 16.00 or € 30.00 extra to cross the border. The desk assistend was even loud and clear. The car is of Thrifty and AUTO EUROPE HAVE NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT THAT For a zero risk insurance a have to pay € 30..00 a day My rental period was . I did not accept that off course See pont 5 "

" very bad. 1- we were 3 Thrifty clients .. I had to wait 1 hout till i get the car. The car i booked was BMW . But u got Clio??? He down grade me . Above all this i paid more to get zero access insurance . zo i paid 92 extra paid for a totaly covering . He promised and wrote a message in the computor that i paid for totaly coverage insurance. When i returned the car the lady there told me that the wheels and glasses are exculded. I were very upset that he lied to me and then he note that down in the file , but nothing was found at the end??? They lied on the client . "

" The only real issue was the return. Whilst the actual return was efficient, it is rather stressful for a stranger in busy Lisbon traffic to actually locate the drop-off facility. I would suggest that anybody intending to return their vehicle to Lisbon airport be supplied with a map and GPS location. Maybe it would be possible to enter the location permanently into each vehicles GPS and provide simple instructions to the renters on how to initialise the GPS to navigate to this destination? "

" We left bagged garbage in the car and a unpeeled banana on the seat. Lierally it took 30 seconds to tut hrow away in the garbage can that was sitting there. There was some sand on the drivers feet area that took maybe an extra minute of vacuum time. There was light surface spray from a mud puddle that i could have rinsed off with a gallon of water and a cup. For this i was charged 40 Euros for addition as l cleaning. When i complained i was told that the fee should have been 75 Euros and there was nothing thst Thrifty could do as the cleaning done in the return area was done by a third party and it was their decision. Well...my decision is that i will never rent from thrifty again. "
