The value of the voucher was €145.73, an amount of €94.06 was deducted from the receipt. iii. An amount of €55.64 was charged as an additional location fee, which was not mentioned at the time of booking. IV. When verbally asked on delivery of the car about the cost of fuel (as it had done about 150km. since the last refueling) I was told that this is set at 30-40% more than the current price. Given that the price is around €1.80/lt. (upon delivery of the car in Germany) a price of up to €2.80/lt. is considered acceptable by me. The price I was charged was €5.76/lt. or a total of €95.12 for 16.5 liters of petrol. "

We went to terminal 1, but it turned out that we should instead go for pick-up to terminal 2. All this took about an extra hour. Could you be in the future more specific about pick-up details. " Car was upgraded to a bigger one because the one ordered was not available, which was a welcome upgrade. However, we waited for 3.5 hours (three and a half hours) to get our pre-paid pre-booked car! Out of the 6 booths, only 2 were operating and there were lots of people in the Thrifty/Hertz booth. "

" I've rented maybe 50 cars from you over the years. I like Autoeurope.de. But I am not in love with you. I've had small problems like this one, and bigger ones with your rentals. I don't get very good support from you when a problem does occur. You focus on customer service. But I've learned that the rental car companies are your true customer, not me. I stay with you because usually the rental terms are clear and the rates are generally the best. Your service not so much. I've come to expect some surprise or little rip-off with every car I rent. I'll fight if it is too big. Otherwise, I just write it off. Rental car companies are basically crooks and most of the agents at the rental car counters are not very trustworthy. I never expect any real help from you on a rental problem. My feeling is that you are leanly staffed and have more important things to worry about than a problem a renter might have. I can't remember any occasion when you took my side. Usually, I just get a "form-letter" type email from you that tells me nothing of value. "

How am I supposed to park this car in a parking garage? Or drive it in small villages? Am I going to walk all the way back to the rental desk and start all over again to get a smaller car? No. I was under some time pressure. There was also an extra E53 charge for taking the car outside Germany. I saw this on my voucher but I never saw it when making the reservation. It only asked me if I would be taking the car outside Germany (we took the car to France and Luxembourg in addition to Germany). I feel this is nothing but a nuisance charge for the customer. The final charge on my credit card was more than E53 too -- it was more like E62. Maybe 19% VAT was added onto this. Who knows. Once they have your credit card, you are at their mercy. Am I going to fight with them over an extra E10? No. I've learned to accept this kind of nonsense from car rental companies. Of course, I got ripped off by Sicily By Car (Autoeurope.de) and got nowhere when I complained. Live and learn. "
