" I had a very bad experience with AVIS-Payless agency at the airport in Lisbon. I lost 2 hours because they did not have in the system my reservation and they gave me contact write by hand in Portuguese. They told that I have no insurance even though I checked REFUNDABLE EXCESS WITH SUPER COVER, so that I had to pay extra security and blocked 270 € from my card over those price which I already paid online. On taking car they try to give me a hit and broken car and when I responded they gave me another car. When returning, I could not get bill because Auto Europe has not sent the information yet and they told to me that I would receive bill by email, which I did not receive after 15 days, as well as money. "

" When i rent the car the payless worker told me that i have got the basic insurence which includ the CDW. as i understood it, if i have a small scratch on the car the insurence will cover it. Unfortunately, when i was driving the car in the douro vally, my phone's services were over, then i had to use the car's GPS system which put me in a very narrow place up the hill on the edge of the cliff! I had no choice because there was no way to do reverse in this narrow place. Luckily, I managed to get out of the situation with a small scratch on the front of the car (which is documented in the photograph). Before I returned the car I went to the garage to find out the price of the repair and he told me that it cost around 50 euros to fix it. Unfortunately when i returned the car to the company they told me that I was not insured through them but through "Auto Europe" because i paid them, and i have been charged for 540 euros for that!!! i couldn't belive this thing just heppend to me and i begged them to help me. They said they were sorry they could not do anything about it and that they should charge me for 540 euros, and that the next day I would call to the Auto Europe and they will return the money to me. when i called the day after to Auto Europe you told me that my insurence is not covering the demage and that i didn't understand it well. I am a student who come here to portugal to the student exchange programe and i don't have so much money. i have been charge for that small scratch more then my rental payment. I am very disappointed in this conduct and the throwing of responsibility between the parties. I do not know who exactly is responsible for the misunderstanding that was caused here, but I point an accusing finger at the two companies because I got the feeling that they got rich at my expense. Until that incident I recommended the cheap price and the good service to all my friends and family planning to travel the area. I think that I should receive compensation from the company so that will do justice and not get rich at my expense. "

" The over 60 minute wait to check out the car at the counter in airport was absolutely horrible. The time it takes to check a car out from the person at counter was way too long; the forms should be automated and computerized. Instead, paper forms were being filled out by hand. Visit an Enterprise counter in the US to see how it is done well. And then, when we finally got to the car park, it was another 30 minute wait for them to pull the car around. Positively mind blowing! And it wasn't even very busy. "
