The contracted drop off person said they found a new dent and tried to charge me. The "dent" was the size of a pinhead. I fought with them for 10 minutes, they ripped up the paperwork and walked off. I then found another employee that agreed that the "dent" was microscopic and clearly NOT an issue. He told me the drop off employees are incentivized to find issues. If this is true it is essentially a fraud scam. The drop off is the last touch point for customer service for Europcar and this is exactly how you lose customers forever! "

" Frankfurt airport pickup very difficult. Long walk to car from counter, no attendant at parking lot. Came with 2 kids and lots of baggage. All loaded into car, warning lights flashing. Called Europcar from parking lot, kids whining in car, only to sit in various waiting lines for 40+ min. Never got through to counter, no help. Ended up leaving stuff in car, incl self-installed car seat, and walking back all the way to the counter. Managed to get a different car but had to walk back and unload/load everything again. Pickup time was not changed although we lost 2h, had a lot of hassle, and missed an appointment because of it. Replacement car was ok. But at dropoff, when I gave back the car with a higher available km range, I was told to refuel another time, because the km range would only be dependent on driving style, so a full tank was necessary. The fact that we had had so much hassle, and lost time that was not given to us afterwards, was ignored. No compensation whatsoever was offered, instead I got a snarky reply that I could always email customer service. Meanwhile, I noticed another customer complain because she couldn't find the GPS - which, it turned out, actually wasn't in the car, despite Europcar personnel telling the customer to try and find it. Again, arrogant looks went back and forth between personnel, until finally, someone went to help. Altogether, an unpleasant experience on both ends, pickup and dropoff. Will try to avoid Europcar going forward. "

It was horrible experience to be charged 30% more of what I expected because of the booster seats. I had no chance to react because it was Easter and all shops were closed. If I knew in advance that AutoEurope hide the correct price, I would have brought online 2 booster seats and have it in the hotel. Horrible experience!!! "

This is the same as refundable excess, so I can't understand why I paid more for "zero excess". 3. Return procedure was too quick, as the rep. urged me to leave the keys and they will check it later. I was then charged twice for my car in Friedrichshafen, both by Auto Europe and by Europcar. I am also very disappointed because my car in Memmingerberg on the 16th was canceled the night before I was supposed to pick it up and the charges on my card for this were not removed nor was I provided any type of compensation or alternative option. When trying to negotiate this illegal (because not stated anywhere in their documents) requirement, Europcar staff told me that its only applied to Ukrainians, because "my manager told me that Ukrainians steal our expensive cars and ordered me to check international driver's license as well". This is a discriminative and offensive statement, which illegally limits my rights. We have been offered a Hyundai i30 as a replacement car, and then (after a long argument), Lexus UX (with no decent space in the back seat, which me and my 4 passengers were counting on, making a booking). More to say, my 300 EUR deposit has not been unblocked yet, despite the fact that the girl at Europcar desk said that they would be unblocked on Thursday Oct 17th. "

" There is an obvious problem with the rental system. I booked a Volkswagen Passat (which I imagine you would have a generous supply of in germany...), but when I entered the pick-up counter (Europcar), I was immediately presented with a set of four car keys: more expensive audi A6, more expensive Alfa Romeo, more expensive 3rd car AND skoda octavia with the same price as the passat. Right off the bat I as the customer was very confused and unsatisfied. I wanted to rent a volkswagen passat (automatic estate), but I was presented with something else, at a significant extra price, OR a smaller car (scoda octavia) at the same price. I don't want a more expensive car. I also don't want a smaller, and clearly in my opinion "lesser car" with the same price. To the customer, this feels like I'm being hoaxed in some way. After a totally needless and long (felt like 15 minutes) arguing with the counter staff, I managed to negotiate an opel insignia with the same price, which to me is the same size as passat, however, still in many ways not as good of a car than the passat. I'm also used to passat's automatic version's adaptive cruise control, which is very nice in the german highways. This experience at the beginning of my trip was not a good one. In my mind both autoeurope and europcar got a lot of negative brand value, as a confusing provider of rental cars with a side of extra hassle in the beginning of a trip. The insignia was parked in such a way, that the rear of the car was in physical contact with a concrete wall of the parking space. That was also very confusing, and since no-one was checking the car with us, we were quite uncertain if this would lead to some unfair damage assessment. If you would like to do stellar customer service, you should never offer a more expensive car at an extra price (that's not what I ordered) nor a lesser car with the same cost (that's not what I ordered). The correct way to inject stellar customer service, would be to offer a more expensive car at the same price, if the requested vehicle is not available, OR offer a lesser car with a lower price. "

" The woman who was at the drop off in Berlin central station office (older woman with shorter blonde hair) was exceptionally rude and service was as bad as one could expect. The doors were locked when we arrived. We waited over 30 minutes for her to arrive. She was rude. Does not know how to smile. Did not apologize (although maybe it was her lunch and smoke break). Then proceeded to try to charge us an extra 24 hours because we were "an hour over" our time. We tried to clarify that we did not get the car until "3" (which wasn't a problem as they cleaned it, thus the delay) but she wanted to insist it was a check out an hour or so earlier. She refused to call the office in Heidelberg, where we picked it up, do double check AND refused to acknowledge that we waited over 30 minutes for her even to open her office door to us at drop off. A terrible way to end an otherwise excellent trip to Germany. FYI! "

The drop off at Gare de Lyon was VERY confusing - more details about what to do and where to go are definitely needed. It would be good to put this information on your website, in the drop off details on the reservation and some additional signs at GdL. Also - the recorded telephone message is very hard to understand - it is some sort of robotised English message with a strong French accent and the clarity is not good. Also - I never received a final bill/receipt to explain charges? "

" I did not get the car type that I booked. And rather than sedan I was given stationwagon which I cant drive well due to the akward back side of the car. When I raised I cant drive station wagon well, rather than given another sedan I was asked to upgrade with additional charge. This is so unacceptable. "
