When I wanted to extend my rental by 4 days I was originally told that I had to visit the pick up office (more than 50km from where I was at the time). While I could do it via the phone eventually, I think this could be improved. Also my car had 2 old damages which were not listed on the handover paperwork. This causes unnecessary stress when returning the car. "

I expected an all-risk insurance, but it turned out to be an super cover which meant that in case of an incident, I would have to involve the police which would mean dedicating expensive holiday time to "stupidities". This resulted in zero trust in both AutoEurope and Europcar (Buchbinder does not exist anymore as it has been acquired by Europcar) in terms of if anything in the voucher is valid since Europcar will anyway charge whatever they want. From a customer perspective it does NOT work that the AutoEurope and Europcar blame each other. This was a small amount but does not build confidence. In the end I got a clarification from AutoEurope but you really need to step up in making the information understandble, at least to the extent the counter staff will understand it. "

Two days later, they charged me €588.66on my credit card without any reference to what the charges are for! They are totally trying to ripe me off. I have been renting with Alamo through Autoeurope.eu for the past two years, never had an issue to anything of this sort but my first rental with Buchbinder, they swing this claim on me, what a thief they are. I failed to understand how a diesel ford can be in the same category as a petrol dacia. But since it was early in the morning and we had a long flight to reach munich, i decided to not argue further. at the end the only reasonable solution was an upgrade to ford s-max diesel which i have to pay extra for. And apparently, this only sensible choice is also an automatic car (more additional cost). this is my 2nd time having to face the same predicament with car rental company in europe. My first experience was via a different online agent. To avoid such scheme to continue, i would strongly suggest that autoeurope make it very clear during the selection of the vehicle on the exact model and specs that are being offered. Car companies shall honor the commitment and if they fail to do that, an upgrade (not downgrade) must be offered at no additional cost to the customer. Otherwise, any booking done on autoeurope is just a joke. Customers would have to settle for bad deals upon arrival. Its a scam that should not happen in Europe. "

Ok we waited, in the meantime we were asking english speaking people who were stopping to help us understand what could be wrong with our car and from the symbols they explained to us that we need to add this liquid called AD BLU. Someone very helpful went to buy for us from a petrol station and we solved the car problem ourselves. We lost nearly 4 hours at this stop and arrived at Munich airport just in time for our flight!!! The conclusion....NEVER AGAIN BUCHBINDERS. wITH A LITTLE TIME FROM THEIR PART WHEN WE WERE GIVEN THE CAR, WE COULD HAVE AVOIDED THIS INCONVENIENCE!!! Ok we waited, in the meantime we were asking english speaking people who were stopping to help us understand what could be wrong with our car and from the symbols they explained to us that we need to add this liquid called AD BLU. Someone very helpful went to buy for us from a petrol station and we solved the car problem ourselves. We lost nearly 4 hours at this stop and arrived at Munich airport just in time for our flight!!! The conclusion....NEVER AGAIN BUCHBINDERS. wITH A LITTLE TIME FROM THEIR PART WHEN WE WERE GIVEN THE CAR, WE COULD HAVE AVOIDED THIS INCONVENIENCE!!! We had to figure out how to do it based on a sheet of instructions taped to the door of the office. The whole reason we called was to avoid having to figure this out after we were already there. The car was great, what I reserved, no complaints there. I just think customer service could use some work. "
