I then informed the Avis agent we would walk across to the Auto Europe rental desk and request they try to book us with another rental company. The Avis agent then informed us (in very poor, hard to understand English) he had one car he could provide for an additional 80 Euros. Our group discussed this and accepted his offer. After taking my I.D. and credit card (for the 80 Euros payment), he turned the computer screen to me, showed an enlarged, zoom-in signature box (zoom did not show any support text), and told me in initial, then, repeated this to show another signature box). I requested to see the documents I was signing in English and was told by the agent this was not available. I asked him what I was signing and he said,"for the 80 Euros charge." I signed and initialed believing and with the understanding I was ONLY agreeing to pay an additional 80 Euros over the 581 Euros on my pre-paid Auto Europe voucher (which I had previously presented and provided). I was given the car keys and directions to the car. The following day I received an email from Avis with PDF documents attached showing a credit of only 461 Euros for my pre-paid Auto Europe voucher AND an additional 861 Euros charge for upgrades and options I did NOT request or approve. " When I returned the vehicle I was confronted with a different amount due than expected. I was charged for gas, plus a few other items that I had not agreed to. In addition, Avis did not have the correct amount of prepayment that I had made. When collecting the vehicle, I did add additional insurance and the desk agent said that was all I would have to pay for on return. I was shown no figures and told to sign on the screen that it was all ok. Unfortunately it was not. There was no one at the desk in the airport when we returned the car, and no one the next day when we were departing the area. Even though the sign and contract said the location was open. I am in contact with Avis customer service but they have not agreed to refund me the entire amount overcharged. I have never had this experience before. I've used AutoEurope for many years now in multiple locations in the USA and Europe. I will think twice about choosing Avis in Germany for my next rental. A shame to have to deal with a mess after a lovely holiday. "

" Auto Europe (AE) will have to work more closely with the rental companies, particularly on the terms and conditions of AE's complete cover - as it turned out in my two rentals during this holiday, neither Enterprise or Avis was aware of or recognised the cover, and "threated" me of the potential consequence for not being covered, resulting me paying for their own cover. This was not only confusing, but also caused actual economic loss to the customers. I am really unsatisfied about this. Also, I found the renting price displayed in the search results often could not be fulfilled - it simply went up within a matter of seconds. This was really annoying. "
" Pick-up of the car from the Frankfurt Central Train Station was pretty quick - the staff at the desk took my IDs and confirmed my booking. He then told me that my complete cover bought from Auto Europe was not recognised/accepted by Avis, so I would face very high charge if anything happened to my rented car. I therefore took their complete cover for the whole period of my rental. He then took my deposit and issued the key (in an unnecessary booklet containing some of the vehicle's information) to me, and very quickly (in his mechanical voice) flew through the instructions of accessing the car park and picking up the car. That was it - they did not have someone taking me to the parking to check the condition of the car with me, not even at the car park! The staff at the pick-up office did warn me of that, and said I could go downstairs in the car park to their office there, but I only found a cabin for Europcar. The staff inside told me not to simply drive away, but refused to sign on my contract for what he said. What an easy start! At the end of my rental, I returned the car to Munich Central Train Station, and was once again very much confused by the process. The car park did not have designated area for each rental company, instead, all cars went into a 1-file queue, and there were only 2-3 members of staff in casual clothes checking the cars before mine. I had to wait for a few minutes, before someone came up to me, got in the car, started it and told me everything was OK - there was no such thing as check-up! When I asked for a receipt and about the refund of my deposit, he said in half German and half English that I had to get it from the Avis office inside the Station. When I finally found their office in the Station, I was told that if the staff at the car park did not raise an issue, I was good to go, and all paperwork would follow by e-mails. How weird! It was the first time I returned a car without any paperwork, which was certainly quicker than my other return experiences, but I would not say it was better, as I left the booklet for the key in my bag, and of course the staff did not discover it from his 1-second super fast check-up. I therefore had to return to the Station in the afternoon just to return the booklet. After three days, I did not receive any e-mails about the return of my deposit as expected, but as I was still on holiday, I did not follow it up. More than two weeks after my rental ended, I finally received my invoice, which included an unknown Service Surcharge at 41.26 EUR plus 7.84 EUR VAT. It was my first time renting from Avis, and I think it may well be the last one. "

We contacted Avis, transferred to the airport shop and were rented a car for our trip. We were completely left high and dry by Auto Europe and given their policies we were afforded no refund from them for a prepaid one week rental on a car. Follow up from home has yielded us nothing. "

He either did not know his job or he wished to harm us since he repeatedly instructed us to fill the tank with diesel instead of unleaded fuel. The child booster seat was very dirty. We spent over 15 minutes cleaning it up before allowing our child to seat on it. More importantly the AVIS employee placed the child booster seat in the car without securing it in its place making it dangerous to use. Luckily we noticed and secured it with the provided isofix clips. The car was not the one we had asked but is was nice and in excellent condition. The drop-off procedure was excellent as was the gentleman who served us at drop-off. "

" Wrong bay number resulted in 2 walks with luggage from central station to parking bay, losing time & convenience. Then When windscreen wipers turned on 2 days later, there were no wiper blades. Road assistance call was so tedious that i requested some common sense that resulted in my waiting for someone else to answer the phone. Road Assist directed me to a garage to buy some blades but after wasting a long time in a que there, they said they did not keep parts. By then the rain had abated & it proved easiest to risk no further rain. So although we got to our conference (through the rain, missing a necessary turn) almost an hour late, we still enjoyed the car while appreciating the rule that if something can, it will go wrong some time & so we recognise the extraordinary string of events are just a quirk of fate in our instance & won't let this experience prejudice our selection of Avis in the future "

" I made a booking with Auto Europe as I did many times before thereservation was made with full kasko insurance, full to full tank filling and unlimited milage. To our surprise the conditions were mixed up completely to those ordered at Auto Europe. Instead paying 68.83 Euro with a credit card charge as usual, the Avis stuff used the fact that my language knowledge was not so good and entered all kind of imaginary additions, so at the end I was charged with additional 111.29 Euros, which is 3 times the original rent amount !!! The fact that upon return of the vehicle I was asked if the tank is full which I answered positively and showed a receipt for the fuel buy, did not influence this unbelievable charged amount!!. We expect from you that you will arrange soon a credit of 111.29 Euros to the card you charged. "
