By asking on several counters somehow I come to Advantage. Here I am informed that the car I have reserved (Kia Sorento) is not on their list. They have only two SUV's (a Hyunday Tuscon and a Toyota). So, I was forced to take another smaller car. But the staff was forcing me to upgrade my reservation for a bigger car for which I had to pay an extra of 100 dollars a day. I didn't want another car but the SUV, but that was not possible. So ultimately I was given a Dodge Van, which I thought was horrible for me and for which I paid another 150 dollars extra. I will never ever rent with Auto Europe. I was going to send a complain, but am writing that here for you. Very very disappointed. "

" We had to wait 45 minutes to get the car (SUV). They wanted us to take a minivan instead, we said no. There was no remote controls available to use with the car. Answer from the rental company: customers are loosing them so we dont provide anymore.... never heard such a story !! Cost for usage of Sun Pass is much more expensive then other car rental company. The car had not been cleaned properly from the previous renter. "

" I am basing this experience with Europcar only on my experience in Phoenix. Auto Europe/Europcar should NOT partner with Advantage at the Phoenix location. The counter staff was the worst rental car experience I have ever had. The counter staff was confused and impossibly slow in getting customers into vehicles (over 1 hour to process 4 rentals in front of me by 3 agents). The staff was trying to up sell local insurances that had already been purchased and included. The car was in the worst condition of any rental car I had ever had. High mileage, ripped off side moldings, dents, scratches, heavily stained interior, maintenance warning lights etc. The return process was something out the 1990s with no automation or confirmation that the car was returned. Staff was unhelpful. When I asked for a return receipt I was told to take a photo of the original contract and told the receipt would be emailed. I have not yet received confirmation of return of the vehicle and am concerned as the condition of the vehicle was so bad at pick up that and I will be held responsible. "

" Details of the unpleasant experience with your counter staff: The counter staff seemed friendly & asked where I was planning to drive. After I replied that I was going to flagstaff & the Grand Canyon, he stated to me that the very small car I was planning to rent will not be able to drive up the mountain (!?!) And that I should rent a larger category car. I replied to him that I have exactly the same car in Europe with which I have driven to the Alps & the Pyrenees mountains with no problem at all. He then claimed that I would be forced to turn off the air conditioning if I kept the Small Car category, to which I replied that this is not a problem for me at all since in Europe my car does not have air conditioning either... He also tried to get me to sign into having the gas tank filled by car rental staff, speaking very quickly about that option and making it sound like it was included in my prepaid fee. I had to ask him several times about the gas tank option to understand that it was an additional fee that I was not willing to pay for, since I can clearly fill up the tank myself before taking the car back. I found this interaction extremely annoying, especially after I arrived in the parking lot to discover that in fact there were 0 cars available in the category that I had reserved and thus I was entitled to an automatic free upgrade, so it became clear to me that he was trying to con me into renting a higher category car, possibly because the category of car I'd reserved was not available. I have rented cars out of airports for many years and this is the first time I have been subject to such devious tactics to try to get me to rent a higher category of car only because the smaller category I had already paid for was not available! Most unprofessional behavior. "

" Dear Eurocar, BUT NOT THIS TIME. First, the Advantage clerk at Orlando did not want to accept my Austrian driving license, because the Austrian licence doesn't have the expiration date. When I asked to change the drop-off point from Orlando to Miami the clerk explained that normally it costs some money, but he agreed with his boss that it will be done free. However, upon returning the car in Miami I saw the charge of $250 for oneway drop and two additional charges (concession fee ? and state tax ?) for a total of $292.82. I think either the Advantage clerk forgot to include the free oneway drop-off or cheated me on this issue, because if I new about the charge of $250 I would find a cheaper way like returning the car in Orlando and renting a new one for a day. The origin of other charges are not clear, because everything was included in the booking. In any case the company has to return this money. Additionally the car was technically incapable. It was a very old car. On the second day it gave the message that "Maintenance Required". I did not have a possibility to change it and had to drive a dangerous car that could stop any moment. I expect the cooperation from your side to satisfy my complain. Regards "
