" If you can help me resolve this issue with thrifty, I will definitely change my mind about recommending Auto Europe. "

" Wing mirror broken. Gear box damaged - never got into 5th. Bought full insurance from Thrifty on pick up. When dropped off, nobody at drop off in airport, but sign saying go to 3rd floor. At 3rd floor they didn't want to take key, but finally accepted. On 10 June charged EUR 239 to my credit card. No email with invoice or explanation. There is no way of contacting them provided on the website. I received an email asking for satisfaction. Provided full information there, however no response from Thrifty. The tank was not full and there were some tolls, but this should not come to eur 239. Very unhappy at cavalier way money was taken from my card with no information and no recourse. "

There was absolutely no reason for this seeing as i left the car with a full tank. I would like to know if there is something which can be done here, this is completely unacceptable. "

" The only feedback I have to share is that when checking in to the counter in the airport, they just referred us to the shuttle bus. We then had to wait in line again at the rental facility. They could eliminate waiting in line at the airport counter by just informing ahead of time to go straight to the shuttle bus. "

" Didn't like despite having full package through Auto Europe attempts were made to push additional cover. Not good that car was filmed as a basis of showing condition but you only get a copy after you have left so no real chance to check. Car internally was dirty. As if some had eaten a pastry and left big crumbs around console area. "

I bought the co average online and when I actually picked up the car I was told that that coverage would only kick in if I "went after" Euro car to be refunded, but I would be charged up front. The real coverage was a daily fee that was quite a bit higher. And once I actually rented and paid, they would not refund the first amount that was actually useless.The car itself was great, "

" I was given a Peugeot 208. Overall, the car looked good with 50K on the clock. However I was very disappointed as the front tyres were worn which could have had serious repercussions. Also, the wiper blades were worn and driving in rainy weather was very irritating. I will be launching a formal complain against Thrifty. "

" Overall a good experience BUT when arriving we were asked by the counter agent if a diesel vehicle would be acceptable - we said no, on the basis of the very negative environmental impact of diesel. He seemed to agree but when we arrived at the lot we had been given a diesel vehicle anyway. In 2023 you really should modernise your fleet to more environmetally friendly options - and train your staff to accomodate these preferences "

" They did not recognize the comprehensive coverage we had on the vehicle, indicating it was 3rd party insurance they did not have any views on. I did not have enough capacity on my credit card to have the EUR2.6k blocked due to other holiday payments. After showing the AutoEurope voucher, they indicated that they still do not recognize the insurance and either needed (i) that we closed another insurance on the car (>EUR200), or (ii) have my wife as co-driver, block her credit card and we pay an additional EUR90. "

" I object to being charged for an additional day for being 2 hours later than the original pick up time. The first vehicle I was given was faulty and had to be returned which incnoveinced me by having to make another trip to the airport the day I arrived. My second vehicle was only ready for collection at 1 or 2pm, as such the drop off time should have been the same. Please revert back on this issue as soon as possible. Thanks "

" I was not happy that I was charged an extra day on the rental, despite dropping the car back just 2 hours after the pick up time. As the original car was not satisfactory, I had to return it the day I arrived and therefore my new collection time was more like 1 or 2pm. I would be happy to rent with Thrifty again if this additional charge was reversed. "

" Was very unsatisfied with the first car I was given at the airport, Dacia Sandero. Though it was in the class I booked ("Renault Clio" or similar), it was exceptionally uncomfortable to handle and to ride in. If the company chooses to have such cheap cars in the fleet, as least they should make an effort not to offer them for longer rentals. As we had a 10 days trip ahead, on the next day I tried to exchange the car at the Thrifty branch at Lotts Road. I was promptly given a VW Polo instead and in 10 minutes was ready to go. It was a good decision since it made the trip much more enjoyable. Overall mixed feeling about the experience. Poor car offer during pick-up at the airport, great service and nice car during exchange at the city center branch. "

" Thrifty/Hertz is a shity car rent provider. I rented a car via Autoeurope.com site. Their system is confusing and deceptive. With a full insurance and a baby seat I had to pay 170 Eur, but I spent 270 Eur for a 3 days rent of Dacia Logan (worst ever car) in Ireland. Looks like too expensive, right? And we had no incidents! Only they know how to increase the amount from nothing. Cheaters!!! "

" I've used auto Europe many times but this was my last time. I always have to pay extra insurance cover, the price of which you only know when you are at the counter. Full cover also does not cover breakdown costs even if the car is faulty. "

" The car experienced a flat battery, I was charged €150 for the breakdown service to jumpstart the car while it was not my fault. The car was used and no lights etc were left on. My suspicion is that the fan stayed on after turning the car off. If it was my fault then I would expect to pay but not when it was a fault with the car. "

" Unfortunately, due to a baggage handlers strike in Brussels Zavantem, my flight to Dublin was cancelled. I immediately contacted both Autoeurope and Thrifty informing them of the cancellation. Both parties refused to help and change the booking for me. Autoeurope said Thrifty was responsible as they had been paid in full. Thrifty said they only receive money when the car is collected and the contract is signed by the client. I paid for a car that I couldn't collect due to the lack of good client service by both parties. Given that I am a frequent client of Autoeurope I feel that they really let me down on this occasion. "

" My only gripe is that I was charged 100 euros for the GPS system. When I chose the GPS in the drop down menu, it didn't affect the price of my rental, so I thought it was included for free. But, clearly it wasn't. If I knew it even cost 10 euros to rent, I never would have gotten it, so I am upset about that. "

" Overall the car was ok and in very good condition. However the pick up for me was not a good experience and these things push people to the competition. I rent quite a lot when I travel so I have experience with different providers. Thrifty/Hertz was the worst so far. "

Then he just decided for us to include a full tank fuel paid in advance without asking. They offered a WV Polo which was insufficient from the luggage size point of view. After insisting they first offered to get a medium size car for an additional $ 100, then finally agreed to give us something that would fit our luggage. We were given a VW Golf, it had 44,000 miles and no working radio along with a few other small electronic issues, but it ran well and it just fitted our luggage. "

" My experience with Thrifty was not so good. After almost 1 hour on the queue I arrived in front of Thrifty officer and stayed there another 15min in order to find a car ready for me. I have booked "Compact Class" wich is category C and I received Hyunday I10 from category A or mini. I explained to Thrifty that is not the car that I paid for and he said that if you book through "this website" then this is what you get for compact class. Most of cases when rental company has no simillar car with you booking they should upgrade it to superiror class instead of downgrade. "

" I booked a BMW 5 series but was given an Audi. I was told it's equivalent. It's not. Suggest you advertise these as Audi or BMW rather than BMW to avoid disappointment. The engine light was on when I picked up the car. I was told not too worry about it, the car had been serviced. While I was in Galway a large yellow filter light also kept appearing on the display leaving me wondering whether the engine would fault. Not really needed on my holidays do you think? Finally, I was charged 117 extra at drop off morning at 9am for being a little over two hours late dropping off the car. I was told by the man at the drop off point that it's the "computer " and nothing he can do. I spoke to your people at the desk in the terminal. Nothing happened "

" Booking was easy, but I was not informed about the high (3000 Euro!) deposit with Thrifty. Your offer stated No Creditcard Costs, so we were unpleasantly surprised by this. To avoid this deposit we had to take an (extra) insurance of 30 Euros a day. Without this we could not take the car. Because of the fact we rented two 9 seaters for 10 days we paid 600 (!) Euros and were double insured... I think it's Autoeurope's responsibility to warn customers about these high deposits. "

" We rented two minibusses at Thrifty/Herz at Cork Airport with super cover by Auto Europe. Staff was very friendly, but Herz asked us a 3000 Euro deposit, but we have a lower limit on our credit cards. The only possibility to get our cars was to buy an extra insurance for 30 Euros a day. So we had to pay 600 Euros for double insurance, however we had already super cover. I'm strongly convinced Herz/Thrifty knows that most creditcard have a limit of 2000 Euros, so it's an easy way of making money. "
