Opened in 1888, Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Train Station is located in the Gallus District. Consisting of a large neo-Renaissance and neoclassical building, it was designed by Philipp Holzmann. The terminal contains 24 railway lines, it’s a S-Bahn (RER) terminus, and has the metro (U-Bahn), bus and tram networks. In its main hall, a statue of Atlas holding the world on his shoulders is present. Customers can expect to find plenty of coffee shops, eateries and general stores. You can expect this station to be well connected to the local public transport hub, which makes getting to and from this location ideal. With tram, bus and metro links, are all available. Due to its central location, you can also decide to walk to your accommodation if you are also staying in central Frankfurt. With no less than six underground car parks, parking your car rental at Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Train Station shouldn’t be too problematic. Finding parking in central Frankfurt however, is somewhat problematic and costly. On-street parking is hard to come by, plus with short maximum stays and high costs, it isn’t ideal if on a budget. Parking garages are a better option. Secure, clean and well-maintained, often these car parks are conveniently located near tourist attractions. A recommended Park & Ride option exists where you park outside the city and catch public transport into town. This option is much cheaper by comparison.
