" The vehicle was booked with a child seat for our 2 year old daughter. Upon pick up of the vehicle there were no car seats available and we had to leave without the car. This resulted in extra costs for us on our holiday and lost time traveling to the schiphol airport and back in vain. " Very nice staff, but be very careful on insurance, car models, and where you're driving. Also note the pick up point for the car is about 5-10 mins walk from the Sixt counter in the station - not a problem for most people I assume, though if there are lots of people picking up at once I imagine there could be a delay. On insurance, it may be better to buy from autoeurope. But in any case skim the policy before you collect the car. We just got the standard one (with a 950euro excess) through autoeurope, and were told at the Sixt counter that the excess is *per damage*. So if there are four damages the excess is 4 * 950. They wanted to add on 400euros or so to reduce the excess to zero (including windows and tyres which they said weren't included). When I asked how they knew the insurance policy of Autoeurope (I think I'd bought their insurance, rather than buying Sixt insurance through them, but I may be wrong), they said they were just talking about Sixt insurance. So the moral of the story seems to be decide what insurance you want in advance and buy in advance from Autoeurope, not from the Sixt counter. In terms of car models, they didn't have the car I'd reserved, and wanted to (in practice) downgrade, although they said it was in the same category. They were nice and found a similar car in the end, but that was I think just luck. Re countries to travel to, they mentioned that certain models (generally German cars) aren't allowed to go to some countries in Eastern Europe for insurance reasons. I stupidly didn't check the full list and didn't realise how long the list was - make sure you do. That all said, staff were nice. Drop off is very quick/efficient and they seem to just check for significant damage not anything minor (not that we caused any minor damage, but was interesting how different the pick up and drop off damage checks were). "
