Moreover during the process of getting the car they told me that I am fully covered and shown me as an example to other customers , so that they will upgrade insurance on the spot. Car itself was 90000 km on the road. It had constantly falsely warned regarding low tire pressure - making the driver nervous. " Auto Europes customer service was not helpful when I called them to figure out why the rental company wanted to charge my card for excess when I booked zero excess. The person I spoke to had no answers, only said "ok, yeah it must be somewhere in the terms then". "
" Zero Excess was not Zero Excess, we had to block tires and glass damage was not included, the car (or similar category) was not available. Because of the winter time and expected snow I selected a mid size car, and opted for the Zero Excess option to not have to worry if for whatever reason I would have minor damages. On pickup the Payless employee let me know they did not have the car or a similar available and I got a Dacia Logan from a lower category. Then they wanted to charge my credit card with 300 Euro Excess. According to them the Zero Excess option was infact a refundable excess, and damage on tires and windows was not included. For that I had to get an additional insurance. According to Auto Europe this was ok as it showed in the terms and conditions that the Zero Excess option at Payless had an Excess of €300 and did not even cover all damages in that excess. They promised to replace our car the next day at our hotel, however the next day we called to check on when they would arrive and they told us they still did not have the car available as the current renter extended their lease. When informing about other cars that showed available on Auto Europe they stated they only had Dacia Logans, one Opel Astra and one Dacia Duster and if someone booked another car they just gave them a Dacia Logan. Eventually they changed our car after two days for an Opel Astra. So all in all Zero Excess was not Zero Excess, tires and glass damage was not included, the car (or similar category) was not available. Stay away. "

" Because I have been travelling with my family and we needed space for our luggage, I have booked the car with the big boot: Skoda Octavia Estate. When we have arrived at Bucharest Payless Car Rental, we were told that there is no type of car according to our reservation. After more than an hour waiting we have been presented with smaller Opel Astra Sedan. We had to travell very uncomfortable, with our luggage in cockpit. Last week, after my coming back from holiday, I wrote a complaint to Auto Europe. I have not got any answer yet. "

" They were not there when we arrived even though we provided all our flight info. Our booking was not on their system and it took them 1 hour to get permission from "?" Even though i had the auto europe voucher. After All this we were given a very bashed up Ford Focus which took 30 min. To do body work damage check prior to leaving! When we returned the car they didn't want to give us a copy of the returned vehicle alleging the office was shut. ( we arrived at 4 pm. Very poor manners from all staff until we got firm with them and then they changed their attitude a bit! "
" Payless gave us one of the worst car rental experiences we have ever had. The car was not checked properly before given to us. No brakes were in place. We had to waste half a day to fix that aside from the fact we were in danger most of our trip (with two little kids at the back!). On top of that, half of the lights stopped working during game the trip. In addition we had to wait for almost half an hour for the rep to come to the office (we arrived at 8:30 and he was there at 9). And then, while we almost miss our flight he started arguing with us for a notch of fuel missing of the fuel tank). Hope to never rent with them again. "
