" Outside Romania, I always had good experiences with Herz. However, in Romania Herz was a disaster for the 3rd year in a row. This time they tried to give me a damaged car - Opel Astra, licence plate B-95-WOM - rear of the vehicle damaged with broken tail light. I believe it was illegal to drive the car in such condition, not sure how Herz can even consider renting such a car. After refusing to accept the car they brought me a dirty Ford Focus. They said the car washing was closing. I noticed lots of cars in the parking lot and upon inquiring they said they were the next class of cars. I commented that normally in such situation Herz would offer an upgrade and maybe even a discount. They refused, basically saying take the dirty car or leave it. Absolutely disgraceful. Again, this is not a complaint about Herz, rather Herz Romania.... "

" The rental experience was awful. The wait time took nearly an hour then there was no shuttle so I had to walk with my luggage to the pickup point. The vehicle they gave me was already very damaged including the windshield. The interior was filthy. The staff were so busy and by the time I got the vehicle it felt pointless to try to ask for a change and I especially didn't want to have to walk back and forth to the rental place again. Overall the pickup was one of the worst I've had. Turn in was a breeze but again no shuttle back to the terminals. "

" Despite the fact that the staff was friendly and helpful, the condition of the car disappointed me a lot. I was choosing to rent the automatic car with super cover insurance thinking that the cars rented by Hertz are almost new and to be protected against damages in case will happen. I was receiving a Toyota Auris with 91000 km, a dirty interior and with many scratches from accidents on the back side. Both left and right sides at the back bumper were scratched. The guy who made the paper marked them up accordingly, so no problem with that, but I was expecting something much better for the amount of money I have paid. On top of that, the car had WINTER TIRES in the middle of July, with outside temperature above 30 degrees. I was mentioning this to the guy , but he told me that are all season tires, which I saw not correct looking for the tires on the internet later. Luckly there were no problems during 18 days, but the handling of the car was not I was used to, most likely due to the tires. In the past I owned a Toyota Corolla and I know how the car brakes and reacts in the corners with good tires. So I was not feel safe in that car with my wife and 2 years old kid. The drop-off was smooth and I'm happy about how the procedures went, but totally dissapointed about condition of the car. I think it's totally not acceptable to have WINTER TYRES on a car in a very hot summer. "
