I made a reservation on your website to rent a car (to have a car for the delivery of my first daughter) but because I had to go to the hospital at 5am the rent-a-car was not open. I quickly sent an email to the customer service to request a cancellation or just a change of date just after the payment of the rental because my wife started to have heavier contractions and the answer was just; "you should have read the terms before you book it, our policy requires 48h for cancellation. We can't do anything." This is what I have received, a very dry, unhelpful, unfriendly answer. This is my last ever rental with Auto Europe and I will never recommend you to my family or friends. There's way more prestigious, honest and friendly companies out there with far better policies and providing a more sympathetic and real helpful service to their customers not just thinking about collecting their money and seeing them as just numbers, not a possible satisfied customer that will come back for their services. " First time with Europcar in Amsterdam - normally I choose other providers but they had a discount. Check in process was slow - had to wait for a long time in line at the first desk and then again at the carpark desk to get the car. Requested car was not available. Car received had a lot of previous damage. Check in staff were dismissive of previous damages that I wanted to note down (never had this problem with Hertz or others before!). It took about 1.5 hours from arrival to leaving with the car. On return, despite the prior damages noted on nearly all panels, the staff receiving the car found a very small scratch which I had taken a prior photo of (dismissed by the check in staff). They said I might get an email about it, but keep the paperwork just in case. Not sure why it could not be solved right then when I had the evidence. This left a sour taste in my mouth and I have been wondering if I am up for a battle about getting the security deposit back - something I have never had an issue with in the past, and I've rented around a dozen cars last year with other providers. "

Unfortunately, With great disappointment I have received the email with Europcar's invoice for the whole Amount of the excess of 700euro. That morning of the 29th of August, me and my wife checked thoroughly the car, and from the pictures I have, there was nothing on the body work. No scratches, dents etc. But even if you found something, where are the pictures to prove it ? This is unfair, and apart from the fact that I liked the car, Europcar (Autoeurope) did not show a nice face to me. I don't know what to say. 1. You freezed more than 800 euro in my card finding it difficult to live around with my family of 5, for 11 days. You should inform your customers beforehand about these hidden costs of freezed insurance money and huge excess, at the time of booking, and not at the time of receiving the car at the airport. 2. This time I had a health issue and was unable to catch my flight. As a result, I had to book another flight one week later. I also wanted to extend my car rental by 1 week. I simply phoned up EuropCar to ask if I could extend my rental period by a week, and they said it was no problem. They took a small amount from the deposit and they said I was done.
