" Awful experience picking up our car in Zagreb. When we arrived we went to the Carwiz counter in the airport and no one was there. We headed to the outside Carwiz station and no one was there. We spent over 30 minutes just trying to find someone. Called and texted on WhatsApp with no answer or response. Finally, three employees came walking up to the outside office. Three people working and not one of them at either service station? The woman who helped us was very rude and seemingly bothered but us being there. Made multiple comments about me requesting an automatic vehicle. Tried to convince me to take a manual instead because it was "bigger and better". Spent the better part of 90 minutes to pick up our vehicle which wasted our only night in Zagreb. We were a little late dropping off the car and in Dubrovnik so I called ahead to let Carwiz know we were running behind. The man on the phone kept arguing with me about "crossing borders" and that if I crossed a border without telling Carwiz they would charge me. Come to find out, he had the wrong reservation pulled up and was arguing with me for no reason. I tried to be proactive and wish I had never called. The man who helped me with dropping off the car was very kind and efficient. Overall, awful experience. I've rented cars many times in Europe and never had an experience like this. I will never rent through Carwiz. "

" Carwiz were great with fees and charges exactly as adivsed. The only issue with auto Europe staff is that they did not know the rental rules for Albania and we received conflicting advice. One staff member even incorrectly said the rules had changed with 24 hours of the initial advice. This was annoying at the time and meant we had to spend more time trying to make sure we had correct information. "

However, a small problem with the radio seem to baffle the staff for a short while When dropping off the vehicle the staff were reluctant to inspect as it was raining. It was then difficult for us as well trying to dodge the rain with our luggage whilst waiiting. The holding deposit was released promptly and that was appreciated. Thank you. "

" I rented through your website an SUV class vehicle. When I clicked option Carwiz it come out as a COMPACT SUV which is fine. However when we arrived at the counter they gave us Renaut "Capture " which is nowhere close to SUV compact class. I don't have those agency CODES they use at the counter to be able to know what vehicle will I eventually receive. With 3 kids and one big bag we barely manged to fit. Really disappointed way of starting out our vacation. I have a question for Carwiz and Auto Europe. If Renault captur is compact suv, then what category to you put Nissan Qashqai or Renault Kadjar? " When picking up the vehicle we witnessed an incident where Carwiz was attempting to charge a damage fee to a couple for a scratch under the bumper. The couple in question was denying that the scratch was made by them. They had many photos of the car taken on the first day of rental to prove their innocence. The couple also pointed out that there were many online reviews describing similar incidents, which really makes you doubt Carwiz honesty. This resulted in us deciding to pay additional 20eur/day for extra insurance so that we would not face the similar issue upon returning of the car. We indeed did not have problems upon the return, however, the overall rental cost was significantly higher with the additional insurance. Also, our car was cleaned, superficially, but was still smelly inside and somewhat dirty in many spots. We really would not recommend this rental company to others. "

" We purposely selected Carwiz over other rental firms because they were advertised on the Auto Europe site to have a facility in the airport terminal that did not require a shuttle. This was important to us since we were travelling with a toddler and a baby and had to carry car seats, a pram and extra baggage for them. We were very disappointed upon arrival to find that the service was not in the airport - having to be driven to and from the Carwiz lot made the pick-up and return of the vehicle slower and much more stressful than was necessary. Although they upgraded us to what they called a luxury auto, we had barely enough room for the four adults and one child with luggage to drive the two and a half hours to Zadar. It was a mess, and when I called Auto Europe they called the rental agency and called me back saying I was lucky to have an upgrade and that this car was bigger then the one we had reserved. So after the long uncomfortable drive I got online to look at my voucher and what the size difference was between what we reserved and what we actually got. The midsize SUV we were supposed to be driving was 31 square feet where the Audi A4 was only 13! "
