Rated third after Paris CDG and Orly Airport - the airport consists of two main terminals, two runways and is open only until midnight. Opting for a car rental at Nice Airport is a great choice for getting you on the road as soon as possible. You can expect to find car rental counters within both terminal buildings. The airport has two main terminals - Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 - they are linked via a free shuttle bus, with operating hours between 04:30 until 00:00. There are two smaller terminals, one for business and the other for cargo. Together these account for up to 20% of all air traffic at the airport. Terminal 1 focuses on providing services for international flights, whilst Terminal 2 caters to the domestic market.
Both main terminals were constructed between 2016 and 2017. Terminal 1 consists of twenty-five gates, with a business lounge centre, meeting rooms, a conference area and accommodation. Terminal 2 consists of 29 gates, with numerous other amenities to make for a safe and secure onward journey. Both terminals are modern and well-laid out.
Nice Airport offers all the necessary facilities and amenities for a secure flight and a pleasant stay. Along with check-in desks, departure lounge, airside gates, baggage reclaim belts, security, arrivals hall, customs and passport control - both terminals also provide restaurants, coffee houses and bars to relax in. ATM cash points, a pharmacy, a service centre, a bank, currency exchange, a prayer room and a vaccination centre are also present. Visitors can enjoy a spa, a conference room and VIP services with priority lanes and valet parking, to name but a few benefits.
For eating out, you can expect to find a Tierry Marx restaurant at La Plage or Pan Garni. Petrossian, Starbucks, Jamie’s Deli and many more. For shopping, various shops selling merchandise, jewellery, newsagents and other local produce shops are present. Nice International Airport provides easy access and superb facilities for those who have mobility issues. Free Wi-Fi is provided with unlimited access across the whole airport.
Located around 7 kms from Nice, Nice International Airport is relatively easy to get to and from by car. You can reach the airport via the A8, by exiting at Nice Saint-Augustin. When collecting your car at the airport, drive along the Boulevard René Cassin via Voie Pierre Mathis towards Nice. Alternatively, you can also drive along the Promenade des Anglais. Public transport is also connected to the airport and tickets for said can be purchased at the airport.
A bus and train service exists linking the airport to Nice and the surrounding area. At Terminal 1, bus stops can be found at Gate 0. Whilst at Terminal 2, you’ll have to walk out of exit A3 and follow the signs to the bus stops. It will take around 40-minutes to reach Nice city centre by bus. Intercity coaches also link the airport to Menton, Marseille, Saint-Raphaël, Antibes and Cannes. Construction is underway to connect the Nice tram network to the airport. Located around 10-minutes’ walk from the airport, you’ll find a train station. Serving the Saint-Tropez and Monaco region.
There are several car parking options at Nice International Airport offering short-stay and long-stay services. There is also a drop-off zone in front of the terminals for convenience. An economy car park is around 7-minutes from the terminal by shuttle bus. The long-term car park is around 3-minutes’ walk from the terminal, and another closer car park which has direct access to the terminal. Passengers can reserve their parking spot online via the airport website. A shuttle service is in operation between both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and the car parks. Hours of operation are from 04:30 until 00:30 with buses running every 5 to 10-minutes.
There is ample parking in Nice itself. Some are free, whilst others charge a parking fee. Normally, the first hour is free. On-street parking is paid for in the city, and generally has a maximum stay of two-hours. On-street parking is difficult to find and can become costly. We recommend using car parking garages which are secure and cheaper.
