The car had no record for older damage and I think that can make some problems. If we didn't pay full insurance again we had to wash the car outside before returning. " In the rental conditions it was indicated that the excess is 300 euro. When I arrived to the Top Rent a Car counter at Sofia airport terminal 2, the representative told me that if the damage to the car will be my fault, Top Rent a Car will charge me up to the *full value of the car*, which means tens of thousands of euros. He said that I am signing a contract with them now, that the contract of Auto Europe is not relevant, and suggested me to add a full insurance for 11 Euro per day. I called Auto Europe and the representative called the Top Rent a Car office to check about it, and Top Rent a Car told also him that they may charge me up to the full value of the car. The Auto Europe representative in any case confirmed to me that they cannot change the contract, that it is illegal, that the excess is 300 euro, and that it seems that Top Rent a Car are lying to get more money out of me. He also suggested to confirm it by email and sent me this: "As per our telephone conversation, we hereby confirm that your excess on your rental vehicle will be 300.00EUR. In case the rental company tries to charge you more than this for any damage, please contact our Customer Service and a prompt solution will be given." The car itself was ok. "

" The queue to the counter took us about an hour. The counter was not sufficiently stuffed to serve huge amount of people. Counter stuff tells lies on insurance purchased through auto Europe. That scares and makes rental experience unpleasant. Getting car was also awful experience. They refused to mark additional scratches we discovered on the car. They were not willing to explain how to exit parking (there were temporary changes, so the signs were not precise ). That cost us additional 15 mins or so. "

" The car felt a little dated andshabby; i certainly would not use to impress. i was a little anxious about driving a vehicle with warning lights; despite having reported my concerns, these were dismissed. when returning the vehicle, it needs to be full. it was allegedly filled by the pump attendant, but on departing the garage, the gauge still showed fuel used, resulting in a visit to a further garage being necessary and a check on the gauge before departing. it may have been an error on the part of the first pump attendant, or it may be a faulty gauge/tank? Either way, recommend checking before returning vehicle. "
" the price was very reasonable for an SUV although the vehicle was quite old for a rental (2013) which was reflected in a shabby interior, with split driving seat, scuffed door handles etc. The most alarming part was that the car was released with a warning light (engine emissions- amber) permanently illuminated and a second warning light that illuminated after appox 30mins continuous driving (electical coil- red). when the light were reported, the local agent advised they were just indicating a service is due. I'm not totally convinced by this and the car did seem like it was getting very warm after about 30mins regardless of a/c setting. fortunately, i only made short journeys. check in and check out relatively straight forward, although its not clear that you have to call the agent to arrange collection by shuttle bus. no checkout documentation provided at drop off. "

I have deliberately chosen full to full fuel policy but actually had to return the car with the same 3/4 volume of the tank. That was very inconvenient and a definite breach of the contract. Did not receive the deposit after returning the car in perfect condition and was told that releasing the deposit could take more than a month. It was a very good value for money. It turned out that the air conditioner does not work for the car and I was forced to return it, since riding in such a hot climate is impossible without an air conditioner. The next morning, at 9:00 am, when I received the car, I stated that the daytime running light of the left headlight does not work. Since the foreman was not on the spot, I had to leave the car again, but I was not given another one. At 14:00, when I called myself to ask about the car, I was told that unfortunately the defect was not fixed yet, but if I agree they will give me another car, I just have to draw up a contract for a new one, etc. I agreed after 30 minutes. We were travelling with a baby, for which I called in advance to warn the staff aiming to ensure fast processing (because the plane landed at 2 a.m.). I even made a user profile at their site to upload all my data and called the service center to ask what other documents/data were necessary. In response I was advised that nothing else is required, that there shall be no problems, and all shall go smoothly and quickly. However, this was not the case. When we arrived, the kiosk at the terminal was closed with a note that we should make a phone call and wait for a shuttle to take us to the other terminal. Due to the late (or early – depending on the point of view) hour I decided to send my family by taxi and wait to be taken to the other terminal where the kiosk was still operating. When I finally reached the counter at the second terminal the employee there acted in a very formal and unwelcoming manner. She refused to register a second driver even though I had my wife's ID card and driving license with me. I had to call back my wife to the terminal (at 2:30 a.m.) twice - second time because the employee insisted that my wife signs a data processing consent in person! All this nonsense greatly upset our 1 year old daughter who was already devastated by lack of sleep. Overall this was the worst customer service experience I have had with a car rental company ever! "

Also I find it quite inappropriate to charge more than once for the same car part. Someone had smoked in the vehicle before me. Otherwise, the car was quite new and in decent condition. When collecting the car they requested deposit of 250.00 EUR (which is fine), but on the voucher it was written that deposit is 150.00 EUR. "

" I had a very good experience! They have a shuttle to take from/ to the airport from/to their office next to the airport! One thing I'd suggest is to inform the client that during night time they should call the proper number in order to get the shuttle at the airport, because I arrived 2 am and there was anybody in the airport counter, but after my call the shuttle came quickly! We also asked what were the associated costs and your representative said 5-10 Euros per country. When we got to Top Rent, we were told that going to Albania was not allowed and that the cost would be ?300. We are upset because we called to verify in advance and have already booked our flights and hotel rooms. We live in Munich and we were left with no choice than to take the car with the fee. When we called to rectify the situation with AutoEurope, we were told that the representative misunderstood our inquiry and did nothing to help us. "
