" Again I need to mention that this review is for Hertz (their staff, their desk, their vehicle). Everything worked out super good. Service was friendly and professional both picking up and while returning. I was a little worried after reading all the horror stories of renting a car in Morocco. But I must say that my Hertz experience in Marrakech was top notch, much much better than for example in Miami, USA. "

" Auto europe has provided me with a false adress of car rental shop in Fez, as it was written Thrifty downtown and on that adress the shop was NON-existant. Luckily with help of Google maps it directed me to Hertz rental office, where it was the right adress and it was merged under one brand (Hertz , Thriffty and Dollar)! Also the phone number provided was not usefull as it did not work. If not of pure luck and help of google maps, I would not be able to find car rental office and also would lose my deposit!!! Auto europe has also provided me with a false cost of additional costs, as it was said that additional driver would cost 300 MAD wit VAT included and at counter this was the cost without VAT included! "
" The location provided on Auto europe voucher for Fez Downtown office is FALSE!!!! Office in Fez warned me that on 18. November office in Marrakech downtown could be closed, but could not call themselfs or give me a phone number. Calling assitance line to get this information was also not successful as in information center they did not know and on many tries all the number they provided did not work or the agent did no longer work for them. Luckily that was the only problem we had, else I do not know how we would solve anything with their responsivnes and just directing you to new phone numbers that do not work. "

" Autoeurope, please change your policy. The policy is made for the main driver, but if the main driver shows up without drivers licence and the second driver is not listed... They make their own rules... this is unacceptable and very customerunfriendly. Please include customer friendly policies in such a case. Case: If the main driver shows up in Person with no drivers licence and is always in the car, the friend, 2nd person owning a drivers licence pays the additional drivers fee. The same type of car insurance as purchased by AutoEurope takes place and will not needed be purchase again. This was the point, they said the Voucher was "invalid" and i need therefore to buy a new insurance. Still they gave me a car with now cost i feel be threated very unfair. Finally i was scared because i purchased the basic coverage in Morocco for my friend. However with AutoEurope there was full coverage - but they just cancelled it the way to let me pay the insurance again. I just wonder who benefited of my paid money in advanced... Sorry, this is not a good way Thrifty did. They just make use of mistakes and want to earn additional money. There is no growing business on such policy in this case in customer satisfaction!!! "
" I am very unhappy. As i the main driver forgot my drivers licence at home, the trifty staff said that my voucher is invalid. This is very unfair, as my friend was having a drivers licence. They gave me a car with their own rules and new insurance i had to pay. Of course if i have no licence i do not get the car for driving, but if my friend is having one... - just making new rules. I feel very unfair, disappointed and upset. "

" Clients should know before booking the car that they can drop it off outside business hours by dropping the keys in a PO box on the sidewall of the rental office. The automatic gearbox on my Citroen Cactus was actually a robotic manual transmission, which means gearshifts were incrdibly slow. Kickdowns were even slower. But it had steering wheel paddles for gear changes, so you could take control when overtaking. Unfortunately the gearbox reduces the power of the diesel motor, but the fues consumption is low. No annoying sounds inside the car. The USB plug could not deliver enough power to charge my phone, and you could not play music from phone memory, only USB-stick. No bluetooth, no AUX plug. "
" The amount blocked from my credit cards was quite high, 2000 euros. On the other hand I am happy that they released the amount very fast, in under 2 weeks. The car loked quite old and tired, though it only had 50.000 km on board. I had no technical problems with the car. The inside of the car was messy and the exterior did not look freshly cleaned, but the requested that the car should be clean at drop-off. "

" Although we booked through Thrifty, it was actually a Hertz office where we picked up the car. There was 1 person serving and it took 2 hours to get to collect the car. As we had the car for over a month we had to go back into Thirty to renew our deposit otherwise the amount would be charged to our card. We experienced a service light on the car which wouldn't turn off, when calling The Thrifty office a number of times and there was no answer, even though the office was supposed to be open. When returning the vehicle we were charged a cleaning fee as we didn't have the car cleaned. This was not explained to us when we picked up the car. When asked where does it state on the contract about cleaning the car we were referred to a French contract. The whole experience was quite disappointing and we have hired many cars. This was the first we've had to clean. "

" We rented a Duster, it had around 88.000 km, so it was not in an excellent shape, but decent. And if you take in consideration the roads there and roads that we put it through, I consider it was in a fair shape. Other than that we were pretty happy with the car, no road incidents or other misfortunes. The driving is pretty chaotic in the big cities, but we come from a pretty chaotic city ourselves, Bucharest, so we are used with no discipline in driving. On the big roads, however, there is a totally different behaviour, everybody is waiting their turn, there are just a few who are in a hurry and speed, but the rest are somewhat polite and well behaved. We liked it very much to drive the long drives. We drove 1.800 in 9 days, from Marrakech to Ait Ben Haddou, Dades Valley, Merzouga, Meknes, Rabat, Fes, Volubilis, Chefchaouen and Tangier. There were some road works between Marrakech and Ait Ben Haddou where the road was terrible and a big time consumer. After that, overall, it was decent and part of it was even great. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visting Morocco, don't just stay in the big cities, go see the country. "
" I was supposed to pick up the car at 08:00 in Marrakech and the guy there showed up at 08:15, which is not a drama, we were glad he showed up anyway. After all I read about renting a car in Morocco, this was nothing. The car had minor scratches that we were very careful to have them specified on the renting documents. We had a minor inconvenient when we returned it in Tangier, we found out that we were supposed to wash it ourselves or pay 25€ for returning it dirty. We tried to take it to a car wash, where the cleaning was only 5€, but it was crowded, it would have taken a couple of hours and we only had left half a day for ourselves in Tangier and we didn't want to spend them in a car wash. So we paid the 25€ for our peace of mind. Beside that, we had another minor inconvenient that the radio required a code in order to work, which we didn't find in the car. I called the central, they have me a number from the office in Marrakech, but nobody answer. I tried several times in different days and no success. We used our own speaker with Apple Music, lucky for us that we had it. "

" The pick-up was all fine, however the drop-off was a bit strange. The Thrifty employee told us we were supposed to return the vehicle in the same state of cleanliness as during the pick-up - a condition we actually found in the contract to our surprise. He told us we had to wash the car just before return (I never had to wash the car before returning to rental company). The contract said the penalty might be up to 1500 MAD (~140€) if the vehicle is really dirty, with cigarette burns, etc., but he happily accepted 25€ in cash (would not accept card for obvious reasons - the 25€ went to his pocket). "
