Upon returning the car, the Sicily By Car employee accepted the car without any complaints and informed me that my deposit would be refunded within 10 days. " We arrived at the Sicily By Car counter at Malta airport at 10:40 pm and waited 30 'before being met at the counter.The clerk was not efficient and quick at all and we still had to wait 40 'before getting our vehicle. In addition, although we were already waiting well before 11:00 p.m., they charged us an additional +/- 37 € for a pick-up of the car after 11:00 p.m. The staff did not accompany us to the vehicle, the check of the condition of the car had to be done by ourselves and the car was dirty. The gasoline tank was not filled, there was 1/3 left, whereas in the contract, it must be full when taking possession and on return; there was therefore no control of the car on the previous return trip. The tire pressure check light was on, and some tires were underinflated. The vehicle overhaul and maintenance light was also on. "

" I was concerned initially about renting with this company as the ratings on google reviews etc were awful with many complaining about the state of the cars, staff etc. I must admit that the rental started off on the wrong foot though, because when I went to pick up the car I was informed that the car tank was half full rather than full. It is not the biggest of issues but it is quite annoying to fill the tank to half its level as opposed to fill it in full. I also got quite annoyed that I was asked to sing the check-in sheet, including the confirmation of assessment of the damages (e.g. scratches) already present on the car without even seeing it. I was told to take pictures, but I think it would make sense if the client is first allowed to inspect the car and assess if all damages are reported on the sheet. In fact, when I inspected the care I noticed that many of the scratches on the car were not marked properly on the check in sheet. Those issues apart, the car was of good quality and had no trouble with it. The check out process was very quick as well. "
