" First of all, the counter was very difficult to find. After I queued for 40 min at the counter where it is written "Payless", the woman told me that I wasn't at the right place. I had to go outside the airport, walk 500m to the last building with a hidden entrance. " In voucher from AutoEurope was written that locally accepted credit cards include Diners, which wasnt true on site in Keflavik. Luckily Payless rental accepted our Diners credit card on exception, otherwise we probably wouldnt be able to rent a car at all!! It was very stressful at first, but it ended well. "

I called the breakdown line and was told that probably the battery is dead, it is not covered by insurance and I need to pay local mechanic 10 000 ISK (~$100) to come and fix it. I'm sure it wasn't my fault - I didn't leave anything in the car turned on overnight, and I took key with me. Fortunately, the owner of the guesthouse I was staying at was able to help. We tried to jump start my car from his car using jumper cables - it didn't work. He supposed that the starter is a problem. Then, we tried to push start my car with a rope and it worked. No problems occurred after that. Overall, the car is in good condition, except this pesky incident, and staff is nice. "
