As is common at many of the world's busiest railway stations, you'll find a very large ticket office as well as several ticket vending machines close by when you arrive to collect or drop off your car rental at Rome Termini Train Station. After renting your low-cost car hire at Roma Termini Train Station, you'll find that getting to and from the station is quick due to its very central location. Roma Termini is situated close to the city centre, which can easily be reached on foot, along with many of Rome's most important monuments and attractions. The station is connected to the Leonardo Express which serves Rome Fiumicino Airport every 15 minutes, with a journey time of around 30 minutes. In the immediate vicinity of the station there is a large central bus terminal which operates from very in the morning until late at night. If you prefer, you can take a cab because there's a 24/7 taxi rank located right outside the station building on Piazza dei Cinquecento. Look out for the city's official cabs which are white with the cab sign on the roof and 'Comune di Roma' written on the door.
Although driving in Rome is relatively simple, parking can be more complicated due to certain limitations. The city is divided into parking areas where the blue zones are paid (except on Sundays and public holidays), the white zones (usually located near hospitals or in areas of the city where only residents can park) are free for up to 3 hours, the yellow zones are free for disabled vehicles and the pink zones are specifically for breast-feeding and pregnant mothers. It's possible to find parking spaces that are free of charge in streets such as Viale dell'Umanesimo, Viale dell'Esperanto, Via Kenia, Via Oceania and Viale Algeria, all close to the Palazzo dell Sport. There are three car parks in the area around Rome Termini Train Station where you can park, as well as Park & Ride facilities at Piazza dei Cinquecento and Marsala which are reasonably priced and open 24 hours a day. There are several car parks in the city centre with prices at a premium. Please bear in mind that only vehicles with a resident's badge can park on the streets of the city centre.
