    Station facilities

Napoli Centrale (the main train station in Naples) is alive with people and trains right through the year. As you would expect at a major international transport hub, passengers have a very wide choice of on-site eateries and cafés available (such as MacDonald's, Burger King, Starbucks, the Heineken Bar and ever-popular Time Café) both in the concourse and at the station's food court, along with plenty of possibilities for a relaxing sit-down meal for passengers with time on their hands. Due to the station's location right in the heart of the city centre, several more good dining options exist ten minutes away on foot. Inside the station, there’s also a grocery store, executive/club lounges and a wide range of regular facilities like ATMs, WCs and a paid luggage-storage area. Naples Train Station is also a popular shopping centre with many top brands represented on-site, chief amongst them Guess, Mango, Parfois, Yves Rocher and Goldenpoint.

How to get to and from Naples Train Station

Travellers opting to rent a car at Naples Train Station instead of Naples Airport have all the convenience of collecting their vehicle in the heart of the city in a location easily accessible by road and public transport. Trains arrive at the station from the capital, Rome, throughout the day, as well as from many other key Italian cities. Located on one of the city's main squares, Piazza Garibaldi (named after the Italian general and revolutionary, Giuseppe Garibaldi), travellers can also reach station on foot from several key points in Naples, such as the ferry terminal. Despite the airport not having a train station, it's easy to reach Napoli Centrale by using the regular bus route (Alibus) which stops right outside the main entrance. Naple Train Station is also reachable by the city's efficient tram and metro networks, both of which stop at the station.

    Parking tips

Parking is notoriously problematic in Naples but some good options do exist in and around the station. Operating 24/7 with security personnel, Parcheggio Quick Napoli Stazione Centrale Car Park is just a few minutes' walk away from the main entrance and a good choice for travellers looking for somewhere to park their car hire at Naples Train Station in a safe environment. Another good option is Naples Central P5 (Piazza Garibaldi) which is open from 5am until 1am and is one of the most reasonably-priced car parks close to the station in the city centre. Visitors also need to be aware of the city's ZTLs (Zonas Traffico Limitato, or Limited Traffic Zones) which exist in several central locations such as as Centro Storico, Mezzocannone and Piazza del Gesù where traffic is heavily restricted and parking is prohibited except for local residents and other permit-holders.
