This airport consists of one main terminal that provides everything you need to a safe and secure onward flight. It's a modern, pleasant and organised building with ample facilities and amenities for everyone. The terminal is spread over three floors. Arrivals hall and baggage reclaim belts, plus customs and passport control are located on the ground floor. A train station is also available for easy access to Bari itself and the region via a 10-minute walk through a series of tunnels from the terminal.
The first floor caters for departures. Here you can expect to find check-in desks for many airlines offering domestic and international connections. A departure lounge, security clearance, passport control and boarding gates. The third floor is divided into two main areas - Schengen and non-Schengen destinations. Numerous stores, coffee shops, bars, eateries and restaurants are spread out across the terminal - both before security and after security clearance.
Contained within its one modern three floored terminal, Bari Airport offers a wonderful selection of eateries, restaurants, coffee houses and bars for passengers and visiting guests. Likewise, numerous and various stores are provided offering everything from newspapers to local merchandise and jewellery. Both the departure and arrival halls contain ATM cash machines and Wi-Fi is provided throughout the terminal free-of-charge. Two playgrounds are provided for kids, and a VIP lounge for those looking for extra comfort of business facilities. Smokers can further benefit from a smoking area.
Located on the ground floor, just outside the arrivals hall you will find the car rental desks of various suppliers. Avis, Budget, Keddy and Sixt are just a few who have a presence here. All suppliers have partnered with us for many years, providing exceptional car rental rates and customer service. Along with international brand suppliers, many local suppliers are also present, such as Sicily by Car and Maggiore Car Rental.
Location wise, Bari Airport is ideal if you want to reach Bari city centre quickly. With only 9 kms from the centre, simply take your car rental at Bari Airport along the Viale Europe (SP73) motorway. This journey should take around 20-minutes. At the terminal you can also expect to find local and express bus services. AMTAB buses are popular and more cost-effective. Bus number 16 will take you from the airport to Piazza Aldo Moro. Bus company Tempesta also provides links from the airport via shuttle bus to Piazza Aldo Moro. Both companies provide services outside the main terminal running every hour. Piazza Aldo Moro has the advantage of being near Bari Central Train Station.
Various taxi companies are available outside the arrivals hall at the taxi rank. Taxi Apulia, RadioTaxi and Eurotax are the more commonly used options. Taxis are white or yellow in colour with a taxi sign upon its roof. The driver will also have relevant identification. Taxis are an expensive option to get from the airport to the city, however, their advantages are comfort, privacy and a door-to-door service. We highly recommend you discuss your journey cost with the driver before entering the taxi.
Another popular option is catching a train into Bari. The airport train station is located around 10-minutes’ walk via underground tunnels. It provides a link to Bari Central Train Station via line FM2. It is open from 05h00 until 23h00, taking around 17-minutes to reach the city. Please remember that you must validate your ticket before boarding.
There is a vast array of parking options in front of the main airport terminal, whilst the car rental parking is located just right of the terminal main car park. In total you can expect 3 car park facilities - named P1, P2 and P3. P1 is a short-stay car park, P2 provides both short and medium-stay parking facilities, whilst P3 is allocated for long-stay parking.
In Bari itself, please make sure your car rental number plate has been registered by the supplier or the accommodation with the local police. This is important if you are staying within a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) area. Failure to do so will mean a fine. All fines are forwarded by the supplier directly to you, often with an additional administration fee. Free parking exists in Bari; these are indicated with a white road line. Blue road lines indicate pay for parking and yellow road lines are reserved for disability parking, residents or commercial use.
