" I rent a car with enough space for 4 persons with 4 lugages - an Opel Crossland X SUV - but firstly I found in parking (at level 8 in Vienna Airport) an Opel Mokka, that was too small. I went back and they changed the car with an Opel Astra SW - it was enough space for us but not SUV... it doesn't matter, we took the car with a huge insurance (355 euro, including a second driver)(rental was only 240 euro for 7 days), 20/27.07) and paying an extra guarantee of 200 euro... we drove around 130 km to Bad Tatzmandorf where we can"t open the trunk of the car and also to close the car doors.. we report the car defect and put the car in the garage of the hotel.. in the next day it came a men from the assistant company but he didnt solve the problem and they took the car on a platform .. Dryyve dont offer us another car, just after several discutions the service company offered a car in exchange for 5 days if we go to pick it up from Graz !!! on our time and money to travel to Graz and back to Bad Tatzmandorf 1! we was and took the car (rented from Buchbinder, paying another 100 euro as insurance and 200 euro as guaratee) to enjoy the holiday.. In 28 of July, Dryyve sent us an email to drop-off the car !! or to extend the rental period !! I explained in my response the situation and they advice me to ask AutoEurope for compensation for the days without a car !! Even since today 31.07 they didn't sent us back the guarantee of 200 euro.. Very unpleasant experience !! I use AutoEurope 2 or 3 times per year but always without problems like this. "

When I returned the car, the rental company presented me with an invoice for the damage to the wheel rim and for an additional car wash (about 30 euros) , totaling over 400 euros. I protested and presented the photos I had taken, which showed that the damage to the wheel rim had occurred earlier. The rental company ordered an additional survey and then agreed with my protest and refunded the money (wheel rim) to my credit card. I have been traveling independently for more than 20 years, and such "charging extra money off 30 euros" for a normal and self-explanatory car wash is completely unexpected. Based on previous experience, I can say that every car is washed and cleaned before the next pick-up, and this fee is included in the price. It is unthinkable that I should have to wash the car inside and out before returning it. " We booked a rental car for a week in Austria through Auto Europe, opting for their most comprehensive insurance package to ensure peace of mind. What followed was nothing short of a scam. Upon arrival, Dryyve fined us €100 for being late -- despite no prior warning that such a charge existed. Then, under pressure, we were forced to purchase an additional €214 insurance package -- one we didn't want or need -- with the claim that "no matter what happens, you won't pay a dime." The car was handed over with 6/8 of a fuel tank, not full. We returned it spotless, undamaged, and with a full tank. And yet -- despite nothing happening to the car -- we were just hit with an additional invoice for €128: €82.50 for a so-called "damage administration fee" (with no damage reported or documented), and €25 for cleaning -- before tax. All of this is on top of the €277 we initially paid to Auto Europe. In total, we were scammed out of €442 beyond the original rental price. This experience was dishonest, exploitative, and deeply frustrating. I sincerely hope no one else falls victim to this scheme. Rent elsewhere. "

As the minute we entered the office, we were welcomed and the person serving is explained every thing about the vehicle and other extra that one can opt for. Same was the drop. " hello, we rented a family car (Audi A4) for 10 days in Austria. when we returned the car to the airport it was dirty inside from garbage and dust. No damage was made to any of the car components - not inside and not outside. We drove the car with our little kids and therefore the dirt. On the return - the Buchbinder representative stated that the car is dirty and will require a cleanup. After 2 hours we received a charge for 170 euro for the cleanup. It is outrages since first of all, we did not know that the car need to be cleaned on return, and second of all, we did not expect the huge charge (almost 50% of the entire rental charge). We feel that we have been scammed because we were there with our little kids and had nor the time or the option to discuss that with the rental company. I am upset about the fact that the cleanup before return was not stated anywhere in the rental agreement. Very very bad experience. Ron "

First of all, at the counter, since we told that we were going to travel abroad (Slovenia), we could have been warned that we should buy the motorway badge for Slovenia as well. I'm from a country where things do not work this way (on motorways) so I'm not familiar with theses processes. I've ended up paying a big fine in Slovenia for circulating in the motorway without badge. I was also charged extra 400€ at the check-out for seemingly having made a scratch on one rim. I was surprised as I've signed a paper at the check-out where no issues were listed and then I get an invoice charging me for almost 400€ to pay for new rims. Zero explanations. "

But the error messages were type of notifications and not red signs of serious issues with the car so I did not report this to Europecar. At drop off station the guy checked the car and told all was good and that I would receive invoice by e-mail. Now I still missing final invoice. When I called Europacar Austria asking for invoice they told that they would submit invoice after they check the car in garage claiming there were issues with car' electronic systems. This is strange because the car was new and car producer must cover issues like these by warranty. Finally I still have no invoice.... "

Next day we had to go to the rent car office ( since they still did not answer the phone,) and they told us that we had our selves to take the car to the Opel service . We paid a crane and took it to Opel . AT the rental office a very rude employee told to pay 1066 eur for the damage . It seemed a lot but we paid it . 2 days later we received the invoice from Opel . " On Auto Europe website we choosen a small C car to use for 3 days. Website told we even got a 30 eur discount. (so the original price would be 92,43 eur ) This price is without any extra. Not even GPS. We paid the 63 eur via the website. And just knew about an extra fees on the pick up point. Which was an extra 70 eur, so 100% more what we paid via the website. If we see the confirmation voucher then we can see somewhere on the botton that the border fee is 22 eur per day but we didnt pay attention as we already paid. So an extra 22 eur per day extra fee as a border fee is really a lot. Even we dont understood which border we are talking about within EU countries?? So this extra fee was a surprise for us (do not mention about the almost 9 eur for the kid booster ..) We were very unsatisfied at the airport , especially because you have not really an other choice there , just pay the extra. You should have to inform the customers more. With clear and not hidden prices. "

" It is really unfortunate Hertz is adding to our poor experience with them. Earlier, our tyre got flat and after facing much trouble we had to take help from OAMTC and had to get a new tyre by paying 111 euros to them, with no help from Hertz. Now,on 8th oct when we returned the car at Ljubjana,the Hertz official inspected the car and showed us microscopic scratches on bumper of boot and mentioned the same in his observation. For this i received a mail that additionally I have to pay 850 euros, which is almost the double of rental amount paid for the car and 1/11th of the car cost price!!!! While taking the car from vienna we were just told that the car is in a good condition and not even a cursory inspection was done along with us to show that there are some or no scratches before hand. On the irony while returning the car a microscopic inspection was done. How in the first place one would know how closely to inspect the car before pick up. We are not even sure these scratched which you have considered as damage existed before hand or not. This is actually not fair to impose such damage cost on us when we cant even quote it as a damage and the official at Vienna should've made us inspect before giving keys.Just to mention as an example,we rented a car from Zagreb too from VIPCars and the guy got us each and every thing checked including the car body and then gave us the key. We have rented car from you and duly paid the rent and security deposits. Its not just to find other means of recovering amount from us by such means. "

The children seats, that I was offered at the airport were in a very, very bad condition, with torn polster and broken fixings of the back. I preffered to go to a shop and by new ones for my children. Appart of that, I do appreciate the very friendly attitude of the staff at Vienna Airport. "

" Hello, 1. We have purchased the maximum insurance available while purchasing the car through the auto europe site. 2. When arriving to the counter to take the car we were told by the Buchbinder representative at the counter (Hani Darwish), that the insurance we have purchased doesn't include support (road service) if the car breaks down or if there is a malfunction in the car and we will need to take care of that by ourselves if something like that happens. 3. We were also told that if we want Buchbinder road service in case the car breaks down we will need to purchase a separate insurance from Buchbinder at the counter regardless what we have purchased in advance through the auto europe site. 4. We have rented cars many times in the past and never heard that the car rental company doesn't provide road service in case the car breaks down. Not mentioning that we have purchased the maximum available insurance from auto europe. 5. As you can imagine, no one will take a car in a foreign country without a road service so we had to purchase the additional insurance from Buchbinder when taking the car. 6. As we see it, this is not an honest conduct by Buchbiner and auto europe and expect auto europe to refund the additional cost we had to pay to Buchbinder for the insurance. They told me this car is above Audi A3 category and are giving it to me without extra charges. On which planet is a Ford Ecosport higher than an Audi A3 Sedan??!! I have driven in USA for 2 months, in Australia, in France. I have never faced this problem anywhere!! They then finally told me that they may consider NOT charging me the one way fee of €25 to consider my troubles. Instead i saw that i have been infact charged extra at €30. This is just wrong and hurtul. I dont think i will ever use AutoEurope again and also warn others to not to. I have hired before in France using AutoEurope. The total price of the rental was EUR 100.46 and it has been fully paid on June 7th, 2018. In this respect Auto Europe send me the voucher no.EU14625259-1, for the Budget reservation no.36956042DE4. The period of the rental has been September 21-24, 2018 and the car has been picked-up and droped-off at the Vienna Schwechat Airport. When I picked up the car from the Budget desk on September 21, the Budget clerk told me that the prepayment they registered for my voucher was of only EUR 74.56, even if I have already paid to Auro Europe the full rate requested by Auto Europe for the rental (EUR 100.46). In this respect, the Budget clerk asked me to pay EUR 30.94 more, in addition to the amount I have already paid to Auto Europe (EUR 100.46) of which Budget received only EUR 74.56. I also mention the fact that I did not request to Budget any additional equipment and I had no additional request which would determine a supplementary charge/fee. Under these conditions, I kindly ask Auto Europe to reimburse me the additional EUR 30.94 that I had to pay to Budget. Please consider that I also sent a complaint in this respect to the e-mail address reservations@autoeurope.eu, to which I attached the documents proving may claim: - the voucher no.EU14625259-1 issued by Auto Europe; - the bank excerpt confirming the payment of EUR 100.46 I made to Auto Europe; - the rental agreement no.226730140 that I had to conclude with Budget on September 21, 2018, based on the reservation no.36956042DE4 (as mentioned in the Auto Europe voucher), according to which I had to pay EUR 30.94 more. " The gentleman in the lot could not understand us when we were looking for our car, but then we found a man who spoke some English and he was helpful. We needed to remove the luggage cover that was placed loosely in the back of the wagon we rented. He was helpful and wrote on the rental agreement that the piece was removed and put a copy on the cover in the lot office so I am hopeful that they replaced the cover when the car was returned. We returned the car at 7:30 AM before the lot was open, so we returned the keys in the drop box and that was very easy. "

We had to re-pack our luggage before the handover of the car and finished at 19:57 sharp. After many long discussions, then talking to the manager and showing them the email I sent them they finally agreed to take off the additional charge. I think you should on the voucher state that additional fees may be charged if you arrive later than the originally specified time. " It was easy to make a choice between several car rental companies offered by Auto Europe and the price was lower compared to direct booking through the car company. Everything with the voucher and the reservation was ok. That was a plus. Negatives: I had a question concerning cross-border fees (which were not clearly stated at the time of reservation) and the first question got answered fast but any subsequent replies remained unanswered at all. Communication could definitely be better. And a bigger one: my credit card was authorized twice for the same amount and today, one month after the reservation and a week after the rental the money is still blocked. I am still communicating with accounting to get this issue resolved. "

They wanted +10E per day for travelling to Innsbruck via Germany (the A1 highway pass Germany). I had to travel +1.5hours just to avoid Germany. I paid +20E/day for 0 excess (120E in total) - this was my option. Even in this situation they made a deposit of 400E. "
